• Good location, pleasant surroundings in the hotel. Nice room, quiet..
• The restaurant had poor waitress service. Long wait.

“Enjoyed the hotel. The remodeling done on the hotel is very nice. The room was comfortable. The best part of the room was the bed. I slept so well, it was a very comfortable mattress. Nice bathroom. The store on the first floor had a good selection of snacks to purchase. I would highly recommend this hotel.”

• The staff was friendly and helpful, the shuttle was convient, good location.
• The pool area didn't have a restroom or changing area.

“I really enjoyed staying at the Doubletree in Smokier. All staff members were very helpful and friendly and the location was great. With a shopping center across the street, a grocery store, and just a few miles from the L train, that was the spot. There was some construction going on at the front entrance but the hotel alerted the guests in advance so I was prepared. Even the construction workers were friendly! the restaurant in the hotel was pretty good, and let's not forget the cookies.”

• The staff was not friendly, helpful or courteous.

“I did not have any hot water to use during my first night, which was never taken care of. The second night after having a wonderful day with family and friends, I returned to find that I was locked out of my room. Upon calling the front desk, I was informed I checked out. I thought this was odd as the employee that checked me in confirmed that I was staying for 2 nights. It took nearly 30 minutes for an employee to get me into my room while my 11 month old was sleep in the stroller. The hotel staff offered no apology for their error. After entering my room, I was even more annoyed to find my room wasn't even cleaned by the hotel staff. This was bothersome as if the hotel had listed as checked out why was the room not cleaned. When checking out the hotel employee asked me about my stay and I provided her with the above mentioned comments. She explained since my room was already paid for there was nothing she could do, but offered me a free breakfast coupon. I've stayed at Double Tree hotels before and have always been satisfied, but had this been my first time at a Double Tree, I assure me and my family would never return.”

• Bright, clean, convenient, easy.
• Thin wall, a bit cramped in the bathroom, no exhaust fan.

“Quite suitable, though some room for improvement. Bathroom small and no exhaust fan. Coffee/tea supplies not refilled during my stay. Bright and cheerful, relaxing during my stay. Walls a bit thin, but clientele quiet at night.Would definitely stay there again, especially at the Priceline rate.”

• The staff was great, rooms were beautiful and clean, location is awesome!
• The hot water wasn't as hot as I'd like it to be, and the thermostat wasn't working.

• I couldn't find refregirator in my room.

“The hotel was located a little bit far from the down town of Chicago. Except for the location, almost all of the hotel was perfect.”

• The hotel restaurant was not good. Food was very poorly prepared.

“For the price, it is probably the best buy. You get upper class accommodations for a very moderate price. Just don’t eat at the restaurant -- the food is very poorly prepared yet you are charged a very high price.

• This is a return visit for me to this hotel and again I was delighted.
• The restaurant could offer a larger selection of dining option.

“This is one of my favorite places to stay when I am in the Chicago area. The staff is great and very helpful and pleasant. The furnishings are functional and fashionable too.”

• We loved this hotel! So modern and totally updated. The room felt like a spa! So clean and up-scale! Beautiful new furniture.
• They need a new TV in this room! Also desperately need a fan in the bathroom.

“We will return to this hotel. The lobby was very comfortable and easily used by business men and also the leisure traveler. Friendly employees were happy to take us to the train and come and pick us up. The room was so up-scale and had new furniture and beautiful draperies, new and beautiful carpet. The bathroom was small but totally renovated in a spa style. The beds were so comfortable and beautifully presented. Additional furniture was very useful and beautifully decorated. The staff was very cordial and readily agreed to a 2 hr late checkout for no additional charge. A great place to stay!”
