• Nothing.
• Old and dirty facilities.

“The staff put us in the old and dirty room next to the remodel project, the hall way was full of replaced old doors, the carpet is full of remodel debris, even my bath tub was clogged, we can't take shower on the first night (I cleaned it later), and the all vendor machines from the first floor to fourth are out of order, do you believe it? Is it Holiday Inn?”

• The lobby/business center/common areas were well kept.
• I had an outside facing room that required walking around the outside of the hotel to get to the main area, restaurant, business center, etc.

“This hotel served its purpose for me. The common areas were well kept and the hotel staff was friendly and helpful, allowing me a late checkout when something came up at the last minute. There are plenty of restaurants/shops nearby and located close to I90/94. The room was comfortable though a bit outdated.”

• Close to Northwestern University.
• Malfunctioning remote control and clock, room a bit shabby.

“Lobby was nice but our room was an outside room which we didn't expect. It felt like a different hotel than the interior part. The second night we were kept up by a loud party next door and we could constantly hear people milling around outside our window. It felt unsafe and a bit seedy. Our remote control didn't work and our alarm clock went off at midnight every night regardless of where it was set. Oh, and 2 huge rotweilers were in the lobby when I checked in (muzzled and leashed) and lunged and snapped at my 5 year old. At checkout the desk clerk asked me how my stay was and I hesitated and said, "It was okay." I hate to complain even when I should! I was clearly unenthusiastic but she didn't ask me to elaborate.”

• The lobby looks good.
• The room's door is open outside directly. Its like a motel.

“I thought that hotel is like a motel although the lobby was neat. The room is not so neat and the door is open to outside.”

• My son like the swimming pool.
• The room I have. It pickup a lot of noised from out side.

• The lobby was nice.
• Drafty room smelled like smoke with an outside door equal to not fabulous.

“The lobby and staff was nice, as was the "Tower". However, my room was not in the tower. It was on the 2nd floor with an outside door. The Chicago wind was my roommate in this drafty room, as was someone's cigarette smoke from visits past, even though this was a "non-smoking" room (The first room I switched from smelled even worse). The lighting was dim, particularly in the bathroom. The exercise room could use some major improvements.”

• It had nice open spaces in the lobby and a good pool area.
• Hotel rooms opened to the outside parking lot and didn't feel safe at all. Also, no free breakfast, hotel restaurant not reasonable or even US.

“This hotel would be good for a business meeting/conference because the rooms are reasonable and the meeting rooms have to be their strong suit. It is not good for families and certainly not for a romantic getaway. The rooms are very small and some open to the outside parking lot which doesn't feel safe at all. There was no friendly breakfast area like all hotels seem to have now. Holiday Inn Express has this wonderful breakfast, but here we were stranded with barely a cup of water. It seems like a standard feature these days for these types of hotels. This hotel is old and stuck in the past. It was a really disappointing experience.”

• Our checkout clerk (the day we left) was very nice.
• Generally unhelpful atmosphere.

“We do not recommend this hotel. We have stayed at several Holiday Inns in the past and found the staff (check-in staff) here to be apathetic and unhelpful. Our room had windows looking out into the indoor pool area and hallway-the hall light stayed brightly on all night. Consequently, our room was so bright we hardly slept either night of our 2-night stay.”

• It had the "appearance" of elegance.
• It was the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed at.

“I asked to have my room changed due to its proximity to the pool. It was so loud you would swear the door and windows were opened. I had to take a nap with a pillow on my head. Even at 11:30 at night, when the pool was closed, dollies from maintenance people were being wheeled up and down the hall, because my room was also next to the maintenance too! I asked to have it switched and they said they were full.”

• Location was convenient.
• Very ethnic - to the point that I felt I was not taken care of because I was not of the same ethnic background (Indian).

“I felt very uncomfortable at this hotel. When I went to the restaurant, I was ignored and not seated. I left even though there were others eating in the restaurant & waiter staff did see me. I waited 10 minutes without being acknowledged. Many people who worked there were unfriendly. They would not look at you or acknowledge you when passing you in the hall. The staff at the front desk however were very nice & helpful.”

• Convenient to my workplace. Great price. Very friendly staff.
• Room had a loud heating-a/c fan unit that could not be turned off.

• The service was great. The hotel itself was beautiful.
• The only thing was that I ordered a single bed and ended up with a double.

• Internet access in business center, warm cozy environment, close to the shops, accessible by public transportation.
• Old interior and furniture, complimentary breakfast is not offered and the available buffet is expensive.

“In brief I enjoyed my stay in the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was convenient. But they better leave the business center open after 11 pm and have a coffee shop with affordable breakfast.”
