“The sheets were stained, tissue paper thin and riddled with holes. The bathroom door would not close without forcing it past the edge of the vanity. The overpowering smells of stale cigarette smoke hung on the walls and tattered curtains like a room that had not been cleaned or updated in thirty years. The overheated room could not be cooled by adjusting the thermostat and only subjected us to a continuous howling from the air conditioner. (we attempted to open the window to get some air but the window frame was bent and only allowed a slight opening) there was not one sign of any of the standard amenities to be found in even the cheapest motel (extra blanket, pillows, hair dryer, coffee maker). In order to eat we had to run across a busy highway with no pedestrian crossing. Suffice it to say, this disgusting experience in a hideous room will keep us away from any travel lodge from now on.”

“It was ok according to the expectations I had. People were good and the bus connection to the downtown Chicago was pretty fine.”

“The worst ever in my experience. It doesn't deserve even 1 star rating. Even for the price I paid, I consider it's overpriced.”

“Modest and affordable, but hotels must have working heat-no matter how cheap! I will not return to a Travelodge and will be frank with other potential customers.”

“Young girl at staff counter was friendly and went above and beyond trying to accommodate us. Our room was not clean when we arrived and really not very clean when we went in. Hotel desperately need updating and up keeping.”

“If I'm going to stay in such a poor quality hotel at 70 dollars Iżll be sure to leave my future wife behind. Last time we had a problem in Racine where they cancelled our reservations without a sorry or even free in room movie. You talked with management and at least got us our room. We were in Madison at the concourse for two nights where we had to switch rooms after the first night. ”

“While the general location of this hotel to the event I was traveling to was ok and the staff was friendly, the upkeep and general appearance was lousy. The hallways smelled of smoke and fresh paint and the outside entrance was not very appealing. The parking lot was not well kept and the whole facility could use a fresh coat of paint to bring it reasonably up to date. It was located virtually underneath an interstate highway and across an empty lot from a 24 hour McDonald's. The bathrooms in general and the shower in particular was exceedingly small. The bed was ok, but the bed sheet over the chair was a nice touch. This hotel fit the description of what I would consider a 1 Star hotel and was the type of property I was hoping to avoid. I've stayed in worse, but I'm glad we only stayed one night. ”

“This is terrible place. I had to leave and get another hotel room even though I had pre-paid for my stay. I realize I asked for 2 stars, but this place is not even worthy of one star. ”

“This hotel is great due to location to O'Hare. It is not at all fancy. It is reasonably clean and fine for a one night stay. It looks a little worn but what do you expect for a 2 star hotel. The front desk clerk was friend and said he had personally deep cleaned the room. He missed a few spots, the chair was stained, but overall it was okay. Definitely not luxury but wasn't paying a big price either.”

“This is not a two star hotel. Downgrade them. You charged me above their list price. The hotel is a dump. Sign says "free Internet" - only free in their lobby on one computer. Wireless did not even work in their lobby. Went to Starbucks to use computer. They did not clean my room one of the nights, and did not empty my trash in the three day stay.”

“The pillows were brown with white creases, the bedding had stains even on the sides of the mattress, the fabric on the recliner was stained and the wallpaper was coming off the wall. The room was blowing hot air full power and the thermostats in the room are strictly for looks, except to turn it off. We had a king bed and when we asked for a room with queens and also asked about the hot air, we were informed, fairly rudely. I would not recommend Travelodge by O'Hare, and I would be nervous to stay in another Travelodge. Fortunately, I've already had several wonderful experiences, and I will continue to use their services. I have contacted Travelodge and everything is fine and taken care of.”

“I was very disappointed in this hotel. It was disgustingly filthy and rundown. The hallway to the rooms smelled like cat urine. Wall paper was peeling off of rotted walls around the shower, other people's hair in the sink, around the toilet and in the shower. They even left a well used bar of soap with hair on it in the shower. The bedding smelled like dirty hair & body odor. The toilet made a flushing noise every 3 minutes all night and day. I know, I timed it. This is what was in the second room after I complained about the first, which was even worse. The advertised wireless internet was not working and the girl on duty said that she couldn't do anything about it, only the manager could fix it. The manager was not in, of course and not due in until morning.”
