• Convenient.
• Unsafe, smelly area, deep cleaning needed, updated fire alarm system.

“This area is near a dump and the odor is horrible. During my extended time here there were drug busts, car thefts, many false fire alarms. I felt very unsafe most of the time- the side door was propped open nightly. Frequently there was loud noises and parties in progress. The housekeeping cleaned their best, but the rooms and I tried several, needed deep cleaning- carpeting, walls, drapes, etc. The front desk staff was always professional and tried to accommodate, however, this seemed to be a management issue. I cannot recommend this hotel for anyone.”

• Close to the city, good price.
• Not a very nice area. Next to a landfill.

“If you want something not too far in the suburbs for a good price and aren't worried about the immediate area being vibrant, this is a great value.”

• Only 20 minutes from Itasca.
• Out-of-date fire extinguishers.

“Overall, not a bad hotel for the value. Most of the staff was friendly and helpful and made my stay pleasant. The only real issue I had was that the fire equipment was out of date for the facility, but then again, I'm keen to notice that because of my chosen profession.”

“For easy access to Chicago, this hotel is excellent. The kitchenette also provides the opportunity to save on meal expenses. In general, the hotel was clean and the staff friendly. I would recommend this to friends and family.”

• I felt very unsafe.

“The refrigerator didn't keep anything cold; we ended throwing it all out. This was a non-smoking room but someone had smoked many times in the bathroom. The carpet by the door was gritty and swollen and we had to really push the door hard to get over it. The handle on the fridge was put on backwards for its position in the room (opened toward the door of the room, yet was right next to the door.) We did not feel safe at all. We took anything of value with us anytime we left the room. The other guests were not what you would expect in a safe place to stay. There were police and sirens to the building next door-a church! The layout was small and crowded when most of the hallways and vending/laundry rooms were much more spacious at other esa's. We are regulars at esa and eda. This was the worst hotel we ever stayed at. It was, lucky for us, not close enough to the places we go to in the area, so we have no reason to stay in this esa again. It is now a week later and we are at the esa in downers grove on Finley. It is not as nice as the esd in Lombard or the homestead in Lombard, but we have stayed here many times before, including one stretch for over 3 months, so it feels very homey to us.”

• It was cheap.
• We didn't feel safe in this hotel or neighborhood.

“The overall condition of the room was OK but the refrigerator door was put on backwards and was very hard to use. The carpeting was swollen near the door so you had to push very hard to get the door open or shut. The nonsmoking room smelled like cigarettes, particularly the bathroom, even after I sprayed with Lysol Neutra Air. The cable signal on the TV kept going out. The over-washed sheets kept popping off the mattress. The toaster hardly worked and kept burning everything unless I popped it up early. The refrigerator didn't keep anything cold, even though we turned the temperature up, and we ended up throwing everything out. The hallways were narrow and the whole hotel had a feeling that you better not walk the hallways at night. We did not feel safe at all. We took our laptop with us whenever we left the room, which we usually don't do at other ESA hotels. We will never stay here again. This was out of the way for everything, even though it was just off the expressway. You shouldn't have to hear sirens and see police cars from your hotel window. The staff was just OK; minimal services at best, not a good attitude, just doing their job till the end of their shift.”

• Almost everything is great about this hotel.
• As I stated in a previous survey, there is a garbage dump in the area which sometimes gives off a very unpleasant smell.

“This hotel is great! I've been here several times and I always enjoy myself. As I stated above the garbage dump in the area sometimes gives of a very unpleasant smell, but this last time I stayed at the hotel, there wasn't a bad smell, which made my stay absolutely wonderful! It depends on how bad the smell is, whether I'll have an enjoyable stay or not. This is the only damper. As for the staff, they're great! They always make me and my fiance' feel very welcomed.”

“Didn't get much sleep! Felt in danger at times! Called and went to talk to staff about drunk and very loud guests several times! I was studying for school exam and could not concentrate and did not get any sleep!”

• Convenient location and relatively clean.
• The comforter had an odor of not being clean & the plates provided were dirty.

“This hotel is very conveniently located just off 290. It was overall a good experience, especially for the price I got. The young lady who checked me in was very pleasant and helpful. Checkout was very quick. My only complaint is small details. The plates provided in the kitchenette were dirty. I would normally not have noticed except for the fact we ordered pizza and were going to eat off of them. The comforter had obviously not been washed for some time. It had a pretty nasty odor to it. I would highly recommend for the price I paid.”

“Our employee stayed here before and was very disappointed. The manager called and said please give us another chance. We did and it was still bad. I do not want to send my employees to an unsafe dirty hotel.”

• This hotel was clean and the employees were very helpful.
• This hotel was not what I was expecting. I was on a leisure trip and would have liked to have a few more amenities then what was available.

• Hard to find, as a matter of fact I never spend my night there because I got lost on the way, so I ended on a different place to spend my night.
• Location is hard to find.

“The location of this hotel is lousy, I got lost trying to find the hotel location and its not easy if you are on an express way with all the cars zooming around you. I hope I never get this hotel again”
