“Great resort with many activities for all ages every day. Facilities are top notch. Only negative was that hotel employees did not seem up to Marriott level. Lifeguards were wearing sweats.”

“The Grand Hotel is a great location and a wonderful place for a couple, a family to get away. Also an ideal location for business meetings with golf, spa, bicycles, walking, tennis.”

“The hotel has everything you need with an air of by-gone days. One is transported to a time when life was "grand," but you do not have to be formal. It is an excellent place for someone single, a romantic couple hideaway, or a playground for families. The golfing is one of the best. It is the perfect place to be.”

“Stayed 3 days in June. The grounds are beautiful, beds are a dream. Food is very expensive. Ate at the salt water grill, the food was at best terrible, Rosemary chicken (dry and tough as if it had set all day) burgers burnt. Two children & 2 adults bill was 85.00 and none was worth eating. Don't try complaining all I got was a sorry. Other than the food the stay was good but too pricey for what they offer.”

“Stayed here for 3 nights in early July. Being from California, the heat and humidity was a bit crazy! Resort was beautiful, Great old buildings and nice beaches. Pool complex was great, the main pool was a bit overwhelming though with all the kids. There is a 21 and older only pool and area, however, some guests apparently didn't feel that these rules applied to them and nobody was really enforcing it. The Grand dining room was an excellent choice for dinner. There new Wellington was great. Wine list was nice as well for being so far from Napa. First night we had a room that was not facing the bay, it felt tight and kind of small. Next morning we asked to switch to a nicer room and were able to do so for no extra charge. This was a bay view room which had a nice balcony on it. Overall this was a beautiful resort with all of the resort amenities that you would expect from a Grand Marriott. Very nice!”

“This was a great location for our family vacation. The pool was great for kids of all ages, the grounds were wonderful for leisurely strolls and there were a lot of options as far as things to do had we been looking for things to do.”

“A lovely setting, rooms furnished beautifully, and friendliest staff ever. Prices too high for those not playing golf or tennis (resort fees should vary accordingly), food and drink around the pool too expensive for what is offered (margarita in a paper cup was $8.50!). Kids loved the pool, bedding was very nice, rooms dark, but noise came through from adjacent rooms.”

“This was a very nice hotel in a beautiful setting. The golf course is extremely nice and challenging. The service was on the slow side, but overall a friendly staff. Parking was a bit of a problem after returning in the evening. Overall it was a pleasant experience.”

“Overall we tremendously enjoyed our visit. The staff was great. It is a very decent, family oriented hotel. The quietness of the place is wonderful. No loud music, etc. The breakfast buffet is fantastic. The hotel grounds are gorgeous.”

“Everything was wonderful until the second day when the maid did not clean our room. The manager sent for someone ASAP and she did not do her job. And that was the last impression left with my family and myself.”

“It is no accident the Grand has been a favorite destination for those in the know for the last 160 years. The place has been renovated and updated after recent hurricanes, and it is come back better and stronger. The pool is amazing. The grounds are breathtaking. Great tennis courts. A great place to get away from it all, and charming Fairhope is temptingly nearby.”

“We had a great time at the Grand at Point Clear. The overall resort is just beautiful and the staff could not have been more accomadating. We needed a crib for our room and that was not an issue. We also requested to be placed next door to some friends also staying there. The Marriott folks took great care of us and honored all of our requests. The only thing we found a bit much was the breakfast buffet at 16.00. We could have used a cheaper option, but ended up going into nearby Fairhope instead. Most comfortable bed that we have ever slept on in a hotel!”

“This hotel takes you back to the old days of summer vacation. It has so many things for kids and adults to enjoy together. The fishing pier had cane poles with bait ready for guests. Our kids just loved that! And the grounds are beautiful. Everywhere you look, your eyes see beauty. The pool is fantastic with baby beach, fountains and a water slide! And, of course, a separate pool for adults. Wonderful place for couples or families.”
