• The room was comfortable, clean and quiet.
• Traffic and road construction--It was quite a distance to the theme park

“The hotel was very pleasant. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I was particularly impressive with the quietness of the rooms. There was a refrigerator in the room.”

• Carpet was damp, bedding bunched up, breakfast in different building.

“This Best Western is on the campus of Northern Illinois University. It is a converted motel that Best Western took over. The bedding bunched up. The pillows were old and lumpy. The air conditioner was loud. The continental breakfast was in a different building. I was given the room closest to the highway (Lincoln Highway), which is well traveled by trucks throughout the night.”

• The rooms had everything, the fact it had a gym was great.
• The breakfast buffet was way too expensive.

• It was in a very quite area. The hotel was very clean. Nice people.
• There was no vending machines in the hotel and the items that were listed in the lobby were expensive.

“This hotel was a very clean. It was in a quiet area with little to no traffic noise. The room was very large with a big desk for business or could be used as table for eating. The pool was indoor and heated. The hotel was a 15 minute drive to Six Flags Great America and also located in a Historical District.”

“Overall the hotel was okay but we found a dirty sock by the chair and socks in the dresser drawer. Nothing was over-the-top wonderful, but just sufficient for what we needed.”

• The rooms are spacious and clean. The location is perfect.
• A continental breakfast would have been nice.

• I was charged for extras that were listed as included.

“The hotel as a whole was fine. They had a breakfast buffet that was listed as a highlight that I was charged a disproportionate amount of money for what was consumed. There were also no prices on the buffet table in any way.”

• Very friendly staff / consistent quality every time I have been there.
• Room was over the garbage dumpster/ the garbage truck woke us up at 7:00 am every morning.

“The front desk called us at 8:00 to tell us we were not supposed to be there. We had to go down to the lobby and show our confirmation sheet that I printed off the internet. I have no idea what would have happened if we did not have that form.”

• The room was spacious, very comfortable, and bed was great.
• Breakfast was not included in the price of the room, and I could not get the high speed internet to work.

• Non-smoking hotel; there should be a way to know this before booking.

“The hotel was nice and it was clean. The amenities were lacking - no mini fridge, non-smoking, small pool, placement of TV was awkward for relaxing.”

• Very friendly and obliging staff. They also provide a shuttle.
• Very little complementary toiletries (only bad shampoo and soap the first day!).

“This is a very nice, clean hotel. The staff was very friendly, had wonderful cards printed up with directions to anywhere you wanted to go, and showed a 4 star degree of politeness. On the other hand the rooms were typical of any 3 or 4 star, and although they had a very nice pool, the towels and toiletries were very cheap quality. Overall, it was one of the cleanest and quietest hotels I¿ve ever stayed in.”

• The pool area was very clean and relaxing. Had a snow storm and the walkways, parking lot were cleared and salted right away.
• I did not like that you had to pay for breakfast.
