• Location was great.
• Staff wasn't very responsive, room did not have fridge like others did.

“Staff wasn't very responsive or overly helpful. Rooms were decent, but were not consistent. One room would have a fridge while others did not.”

• Was ok for the price, room was clean.
• Breakfast was very limited on selection. Morning staff was not very friendly.

“For the price this was a decent motel. It is an older facility but maintained well. In addition, the rooms were clean and had nice bedding. Breakfast selection was very disappointing and the staff was not the most friendly.”

• Free continental breakfast and internet. The cable TV had good selection of channels.
• The room smelled of smoke despite it being a non-smoking room. Door lock was broken.

“The hotel is located near a mall and is very close to the University Campus. The entry way was clean as were the common areas. My room smelled of smoke despite it being a non smoking room. It took 2 days to air it out. The room was a double and the second bed had what appeared to be cigarette ashes in it. I requested a linen change for both beds and housekeeping took care of it (I think). The bolts on the upper door lock were very loose (I could have pulled the lock right off). The front desk staff person was helpful and left a work order for maintenance to fix it. Continental breakfast was good. I would recommend this hotel if you have a short stay. You just might need to be vigilant in making sure the bedding is clean.”

• The hotel was clean and comfortable.
• A microwave would have been nice and maybe the bathroom would have been bigger.

• Old, not well maintained, low to no wireless connectivity.

“The La Quinta Inn Champaign is at best a 1 star motel. It is older, not particularly well maintained, with few amenities. The beds in our room were sloped. The wireless internet connection was low and frequently lost. On the evening we stayed the La Quinta had a group of about 30 roofing workers in the motel and they elected to barbecue out in the parking lot at about 9:00 pm. Both noisy and a bit raucous. Also these folks were filling their coolers with ice starting at 5:00 AM the very next morning, noisy group. It is definitely not a 2 & 1/2 star.”

• Close to the mall, McDonalds Play land & Bob Evans.
• Just felt a wee, bit dirty. Noisy room next to ice machine.

“You get what you pay for. This is a very average stay at a very average hotel. Loved the location, lots of good family fun/dining nearby (as far as Champaign is concerned).”

• Very clean updated large room, coffee maker, continental breakfast.
• Kids taking do not disturb signs off doors. Nothing to dislike.

• I like the DIY Belgium waffle station.
• The hotel room was reflecting its age.

“Overall, for the star level and age of the hotel, it was in very good condition. The public areas were kept very clean.”

• No indoor swimming pool.

• It had a good continental breakfast.
• The hotel was noisy.

“The hotel is easy to get to, and has good amenities for the price. We had an end room, and the opening/closing of the door from outside was noisy and as people entered the hotel, any noise from the hall was clearly heard in our room. Still, the free Wi-Fi was great and the price was good.”

• Free wireless internet.
• Lousy beds, with no options for a room with a king or even queen-sized bed-only beds that purported to be doubles, but seemed smaller.

“The location of this hotel is terrible, but all hotels in Champaign are located in a wasteland of shopping centers north of I-74, quite far from anywhere that anyone would actually want to go. With a little effort on the part of the management, a stay at this La Quinta could be so much nicer. You also get maids and their friends having loud conversations in the hallway outside your room at ridiculously early hours, and, because the doors are insufficiently soundproofed, it feels like they are in the room with you. Serviceable but not particularly attractive rooms.”

• Enjoyed the free internet surfing.
• Bathroom too small.

“Overall good quality hotel with the price range with most of the amenities including nice standard breakfast. I was traveling with my toddler and wife and asked for microwave in the room and they declined. That is why I won't give them 9 or 10. Great location, walking distance from market place (mall).”
