• There was a fridge, microwave, and safe in room. The common areas were very nice and clean with a quality hot breakfast served.
• While well appointed our room needed maintenance, and the air conditioner did not remove the humidity from the room leaving everything feeling damp.

“This lodging would be great for an overnight stay, but I would not recommend it for longer use. While the staff was very responsive, it seemed like some basic maintenance of the rooms was needed.”

• They gave me an upgrade after just asking.
• Some of the wall looked like they were in bad shape.

“Nice hotel, I would love to see some work done on some of the walls that looked as if they had seen better days. The staff was very nice and was able to help in getting me everything I needed. The staff is by all means an A number 1 team.”

• It looks like every other hotel of its kind.

• The room was great, very clean.
• The pool was way too cold.

“The advertised a heated pool but the pool was very cold. Good breakfast but no trays to bring it back to your room. Overall good hotel for the money.”

• Location and quality for the price.
• Poor service at check in and check out time.

“Our expectations were met with two exceptions. One the manager of the hotel stepped in when the person checking us in gave us false information. Because of her diligences, we got our room at the time we needed to check in. The person who checked us out was equally slow and rude. I attempted to use the business center and could not connect to my office. The computer has no virus protection. On the other hand, the location is great, right off interstate I-55. The hotel facilities are immaculate. The remaining staff was customer oriented.”

“Great place to stay in Bloomington/normal. Far enough out of town that you don't feel caught in the college scene, but close enough to visit. Great new shopping near by. Clean, well kept with a friendly staff.”

• The bedding updates are very nice.
• The breakfast hours were too short for the weekend.

“We had a great experience at the hotel. It was a little out of the way to our activities in Bloomington but the access to the highway was good for traveling to the other side of town. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I found this to be a good value.”

• It was clean and away from high traffic noise.
• Off the highway, not in immediate view, without directions, hard to find.

• Room was large, excellent front desk staff.
• TV was very limited, room was not ready on time.

“Great hotel for the money. Only two negative things: my room was not ready when I checked in (at 4:30 p.m.) So I had to wait in the lobby for 15 minutes. Also, TV is not good. Only about 9 stations, and the lodge net movie selection was only 7 movies. Other than that, a great experience at this hotel.”

• Location is not bad-near the interstate.
• Beds are hard, rooms are small, trash found around facility.

“I have stayed at this hotel twice and was not happy with my service both times. The front desk staff was not friendly and the rooms were not on-par with other hotels in the area. I am a business traveler and stay in many hotels around Illinois, Wingate ranks low to middle of the barrel.”

• Room was quiet, staff at front desk was friendly.
• Ants, needed caulking badly in the bathroom, fridge still had prior renters food in it, phone on desk didn't work, room service started knocking at 8:30 a.m. For an 11 a.m. Checkout.

“The room that I was in had ants, the caulking that held up the sink counter was in desperate need of repair, the caulking around the tub was cracked and had mold, and the tub was badly rusted and damaged. The fridge had not been cleaned before we arrived. It still had food from a prior stay. On the date of checkout, housekeeping about broke the door down at 8:30 a.m. Then came and knocked twice more before 9 a.m. After a late night, I was hoping for another hour of sleep before I was awakened. I expected a lot more. I wasn't happy.”

• Close to the highway.
• Very difficult to adjust room type from king to doubles.

“The staff seemed unable to adjust the room type from the standard king to a room with 2 double beds. It took 4 phone calls on my part. Also, on one of my nights in the lobby, the staff was milling about and playing on the computer.”

• The bathroom was not clean and mildew/mold was present.

“I would not recommend this location to anyone. From the check in to check out I was not impressed. The person who checked us in was not dressed professionally, it took several attempts to get us checked into a room and he could not even make our room keys correctly. The condition of the bathroom was terrible. The room felt damp and musty.”

• Very clean and nice furnishings, had a great pool & hot tub that is open late.
• It was hard to shut our door.

“This was a great hotel. My children and I stayed there for one night and they had a great time swimming in the pool. We were pleased at the long hours the pool is available. Overall a great place to stay.”

• Hotel is right next to a bar with a live band..... a very loud live band!

“An inviting lobby but the room fell short. Peeling paint in the bathroom, lots of concrete in the view with a lively bar next door.”
