• It was cheap and it had a kitchen.
• It was a bit aged and the heater/AC unit performance was sub par.

“Good value for the money. While the walls may be a little thin, and you may have to switch rooms to get a decent one, the location is reasonable!”

• Staff was friendly, comfortable, quiet room, and safe location.
• Sheets did not feel or smell clean.

“Inexpensive, comfortable, no frills, and a convenient hotel. Good for a one star hotel. Stores and restaurants are close by which made dining and shopping easy. Safe area with easy access to highway in and out of downtown Madison.”

• The girl at the front desk was friendly and got us checked in quickly.
• Could not find an ice machine, looked like make your own ice cubes in the freezer provided.

“Staff was great. Rooms were clean with a mini kitchen. We did not come directly off the freeway so were not sure exactly where the hotel was and was behind several other buildings. No sign on the frontage road, made it hard to find.”

• Great location and in good order.
• Room didn't have any shampoo in room and smelled a bit like my son's soccer shoes.

“A great stay for the price and certainly the best 1-star I've ever stayed in. 100% better than a supposed 2.5-star hotel I stayed at in Kansas City recently.”

• The price was right, and the room was nice looking.
• Uncomfortable beds.

• The curtains that keep it very dark in the room, even with outside lights nearby.
• The dryness of the air was a real problem. Also the thin walls to hear neighbors.

“Because there is another hotel "extended stay deluxe" right next door, there is apparently a continuing problem of confusion with "Extended Stay America". When we were there (at 1:30 am after driving 4 hours through a snowstorm), there was another couple with the same frustrating confusion. The 600 number that we dialed gave us no assistance, and luckily, there was a broken door key locked in the slot to give us access to the warm lobby of the extended stay deluxe. We didn't get to our room until close to 2:40.”

• Location was excellent for this trip.
• Foul odor from cooking smells of other guests.

“The hotel itself is perfectly acceptable. One big issue for this trip was that they apparently have some folks living there (it is an extended stay) who are from overseas and the cooking smells were unpleasant and at times overwhelming. Since we were there for one night only, we lived with it, and there's only so much that the hotel could do about the issue, but it was troublesome and we made a point of telling the management about it at the conclusion of our stay. It's difficult to say if this would be a problem at another time; our previous experience (back in 2005) was better.”

• Good location near the expressway.
• Poor bed & pillows. No 24-hr desk staff. Poor lighting. Water leak in ceiling.

“Much better choices in motels than this one. No 24-hour desk staff and no on-site maid service. The motel charges for those needing maid services more than once per seven days. Room and bathroom was quite clean, but relatively dull in decor. The room lighting was very harsh fluorescent fixtures. The pillows were very poor as was the mattress. No business center or public computer kiosk in lobby. Got a very good room price for the night, but Hampton inn is much better in comparison. Had to ask for shampoo in lobby but at least I wasn't charged for it. Parking lot was fine.”

• Very well kept up hotel.
• Very difficult to get too.

“Great place for the price. Very comparable to a 2 star hotel in my opinion. Location is in a very odd place in respect to the highway. Area is very congested with businesses and makes it difficult to get too. I used a parking lot next door to park when I checked in because I found it hard to get too.”
