• Fruit and yogurt.
• Bed was uncomfortable, hallway was smoking, room seems to be out dated.

“Felt it needs some up-dating. Waffle mix needs to have more flavor. Dining area is small and would be difficult, if staying with a family. Staff was very helpful and friendly.”

• It was convenient to get to from the highway.
• The hotel room was musty and a bit dirty.

“The hotel was conveniently located near the highway and parking was easy to find. The hotel staff was friendly and worked efficiently. The room smelled musty and felt very humid. I could tell the carpet must have mold because of the smell in the room. The bathrooms were average and seamed a bit rough around the edges. The carpet was so musty; I did not want to walk on it. Overall though, for a place just to sleep for one night it was fine, but I would not stay there again.”

• The waffles for breakfast were great.
• The room was a tad musty but I think that was from the air conditioning.

“The complimentary breakfast was wonderful (above and beyond what I expected with waffles, boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt and great coffee) and the staff was very nice and helpful.”

“Poor. Did not offer a clean room in exchange for the room that smelled like urine, nor did we hear any feedback on our request to be compensated.”

• It was close to the event we attended.
• No attempt by staff to keep noise from kids in the halls.

“The hotel was convenient from a location stand point. The room was not ready (9 p.m.); the clerk tried to give me a smoking room instead of my reserved room. She went to clean it when I refused a smoking room. We waited for 1/2 hour for the room to be cleaned, there was still a dirty towel and some plastic silver wear in the room - it made us wonder what other short cuts were taken.”

• The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Room was clean.
• Entrance/exit from hotel not very good. Keys were hard to use.

“Overall it was a good experience. This is the second time I have used the la Quinta chain. Would use again. The hotel on the east side of Madison, I was especially nice.”

• The rooms were large enough to fit in a crib comfortably for my granddaughter. Good variety of items for breakfast. Nice and clean swimming pool.
• Pillows were lumpy. Mattress pads shifted, making lumps. Staff cleared away breakfast at exactly 9 o'clock, even though we were still eating.

“The motel was easily accessible. Rooms were large. Pool and workout room were a plus. Good variety of breakfast items. Good value.”

• The pool was great. The breakfast buffet was helpful.
• There was mold on the shower curtain.

“Was surprised to find a one-star hotel that was in good shape. Pleasant time spent there. Nice pool and hot tub. Breakfast bar helped cut down travel costs. Had a great stay.”

• Excellent quality for the price.
• The girl on staff when we were there was not always helpful. It took her 4 calls to answer the phone. I kept getting disconnected.

“The quality of the hotel was excellent. The quality of the staff was mediocre. Sometimes helpful, sometimes not.”

• Towels and bed sheet were soft.
• Entrance to Hotel difficult to get into. Parking was limited.

“Soft bed and great towels. Room was clean, and in particular, the bathroom. Hotel staff appeared to be friendly. On the other hand, parking lot is too small and difficult to get into, particularly when driving west bound on highway 10. If you are not familiar with the immediate area streets, you would end up driving past, and making a U-turn a couple hundred yards down the road. Compounding the limited parking, fisherman were parking across several empty parking slots because of their boats. Hotel staff need to keep an eye out for that and possibly arrange for alternate parking for these fisherman and their boats.”

• Clean, most employees friendly, continental breakfast.
• Pool was too cold.

“My husband cannot go in the hot tub due to blood pressure problems, he loves the pool and it was too cold for him to go in. All the other guests that tried the pool, said it was cold. Some children ventured in the pool but most of the adults stayed out because of the cold temperature.”

• Very nice pool area and an excellent continental breakfast.

“The pool area is all windows and we enjoyed the warmth of the room while looking out at the snow. The continental breakfast was very good with all sorts of choices. The rooms are average.”

“The hotel is descent, but old. The staff was unprofessional. When I arrived to check in, the girl at the counter just stared at me while I said I needed to check in then finally got one of the other women to help me out. I guess I had interrupted her story she was sharing to her coworkers.”
