“The hotel seemed a bit lower in standards than I expected of La Quinta. My first room had some debris on the floor that made it look like the cleaning staff had not run the vacuum cleaner. There was a lot of noise coming from somewhere in the walls in the bathroom area that was very annoying. I went to the desk and complained about the noise and they did give me another room that was quiet on the other side of the hotel. The 2nd room was also cleaner. Also, if you stay at this hotel, be aware ahead of time that it is right on the highway. A room on the front side of the hotel may have a lot of noise from traffic, while a room on the back side will be quieter.”

“The hotel was in a great location to the I-10 Interstate. We heard horror stories about staying in New Orleans, so we opted for the Slidell location. It has a much more neighborhood-like feel. It is in a shopping/restaurant area and has a Cracker Barrel and Wal Mart within walking distance. Staff was friendly and room was clean.”

“Poor exterior upkeep, lots of branches, garden debris around, looks as though a tree had been taken down and left where it fell; peeling, cracking paint, worn spots on concrete. I wouldn't have allowed my children to walk around without me, and then only when necessary. I didn't feel safe. Room was clean though, well kept interior, cold AC.”

“I was a little disappointed about the hotel for the price. We ended up traveling all the way to Slidell on Friday night. We got there about 12:30 a.m. I asked the man if we could go ahead & check in and he said yes. Then he said he would have to charge us for another night. What difference does that make. It took me about 30-40 to check-in. I used to work for a Hotel & I know what you can do and what you can't as far as check-in times and rates. I may do something different the next we have to stay in Slidell.”

“On this trip, though, the water pump broke, and there was no hot water in the morning. I believe that will not happen again, though.”

“The usual problems: slow drains, loud neighbors. Also, I left some clothing in the closet by mistake. I'm sure if I called, they would get it to me somehow, but it would be nice if hotels would contact customers when they find things left in the room. They certainly have the contact info for the person who stayed in the room the previous night. That aside, the hotel is decent.”

“We had to travel 16 extra miles to get to the hotel based on directions from a billboard ad & GPS. The room smelled, but it was late & we were too tired to change it. There were no directions for the TV. After 20 minutes of frustration, we purchased a movie just to have entertainment and noise. It was not very comfortable, even for a low value hotel. I have never had a problem with a La Quinta traveling until this trip. I had similar problems with our second night in Bristol VA as well. I will never stay at another La Quinta again.”

“The hotel was run down and dirty looking. The "hi speed" internet was anything but that when it worked, the beds were uncomfortable. I had to clean out the shower before I could use it. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.”

“Good place to stay with pets, I have a dog that is more like my child and this hotel had no problems with this. Some hotels don't let pets stay but let children and my dog is cleaner than a lot of children I know.”

“This is my forth o fifth time at this hotel and although they are having wireless internet access in every room, it has never worked in any of my rooms. This is a case of duping the business traveler. As a person who needs the internet to conduct daily business, I basically wasted a week of my time being forced to stay in this dump when there were equally priced hotels in the area.”
