“The hotel is in an excellent location for those who wish to explore the downtown locations of Memphis. We found the hotel staff was very helpful especially the hotel manager who took time to chat with us.”

“Overall, this hotel was good. The elevators seemed a little old, and nobody touched the pool while we were there. They also charged $10 a day to park at the hotel.”

“We were suppose to stay two nights in this hotel. I will say the day shift personnel for this hotel was very polite and very helpful as we were traveling with sick children. However as the evening rolled around we did not have any hot water in our room. The hotel was sold out ( I do believe because we were not even given the opportunity to shower in another room) They came up 3 time and were unable to fix the problem and we were told it could not be fixed till after our stay. The Manager was extremely rude and went so far as to talk about my husband and myself after we chose to check out of the hotel at 12:30 AM. Little did he know that our teenage children were standing a few feet away and heard every word he said.”

“The hotel was very nice with clean rooms. I stayed in a smoking room, and was happily surprised at the clean smell. The only way you could really tell that it was smoking was the ashtrays. The bed was very large and comfortable. The bathroom was fairly small but it was clean. Overall great. A clean room, fabulous location. What more can you ask for?”

“Great location, good room. Girl at desk had an attitude that's just one person though, no big deal. Liked the room a lot, though a little on the small side had an excellent view from 8th floor. I would recommend to anybody as an alternative to the Peabody, which is personally out of my price range. The good news is walk ten yards directly across the street and you are in the Peabody.”

“Not recommended if you're looking for an upscale, modern hotel. Not a good value for the price. Rooms need to be refurbished. Elevators and hallways in poor condition. It is in a great location and OK if you just want somewhere to stay but not for a nice getaway. The Peabody across the street is beautiful - stop in and have a drink in their lobby.”

“I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights while attending a convention at the Memphis cook convention center. It was a little further than other hotels (just under a mile) but there is a convenient trolley that takes you right to the convention center for $1. The hotel staff was very helpful and pleasant, and the room was very nice--fairly spacious (though the bathroom was a bit small), clean, and nicely appointed. There are several nice, affordable restaurants and bars within walking distance. I definitely recommend staying at this hotel.”

“Located in the heart of Memphis, convenient to Beale Street. Sign that a extreme makeover is starting, didn't really see a lot of construction. I would stay there again even with construction.”

“A throwback hotel. It looks like there hasn't been a renovation. The service elevator required to reach parking levels is excruciatingly slow, but that was good because it's probably more dangerous than slow. Front desk service is nice and very southern genteel, but it takes a long time to get anyone to help you. Holiday Inn needs to take their name off the hotel.”

“The hotel was older but I expected it to be in better condition since it is in downtown. It was not falling apart but there were a number of little issues. I expected a little more for $200.00 per night. And for that price I definitely expected better service.”

“The Holiday Inn Select in Memphis is a great value. It's close to Beale street, and across the street from the Peabody. They had free hour do ores and drinks on Wednesday night for an hour, which was a nice touch. My only complaint is that the bathrooms are small and the elevators take forever. ”

“The location of this hotel was prime. Very easy to walk to everything in the area (Beale St., trolley, The Peabody ducks, ballfield etc). Parking was convenient, but found out upon checkout that there was a $10.00 charge. They first put us in a smoking double, but moved to non-smoking king upon our request. The service elevator had to be used to go to parking lot and had to wait 10-15 minutes for it to come. Got very tiring.”
