  • Wonderful, clean, comfortable, friendly staff, courteous, helpful.
  • We wished we could have stayed longer.

“On the way to new Orleans I contacted the hotel directly to request a queen or king-size bed since my husband is 6'5" tall. On arrival the desk clerk, noting my request, regrettably informed me that there was only a room with 2 double beds available. She asked me to wait just a moment and when she returned handed me a key and asked my to check that room to see if it would be satisfactory. We had been upgraded to the penthouse suite! Two story, two bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths fabulous! Everything was lovely, clean, comfortable perfect! Staff was very helpful and friendly.”

  • The hotel's staff was very friendly and professional. The location was perfect and the decor beautiful.
  • Dining was a bit pricey and the food was average.

“I would suggest the Marriott JW for anyone wanting a first class hotel with a convenient location to everything that New Orleans has to offer.”

  • This place is the tops! Terrific location, great service.
  • What I didn't like is that I had to check out!

“The JW Marriott in downtown New Orleans is the best hotel I've stayed in. It's beautifully decorated, the service is first class, the room was very comfortable, great exercise room and rooftop pool, and the location couldn't be better:close to Bourbon Street, right on Canal St., the St. Charles line right out front: it couldn't get any better.”

  • everything - this was a very pleasant experience
  • when our next door neighbors came in at 5:30 and were very loud - not the hotels' fault

“We had come to New Orleans for a wedding - the majority of the guests were registered at another hotel- supposedly great group rates. Our room was so far superior to theirs - and they were all kicking themselves for not going our route. ”

  • This hotel is in a great location. Rooms are clean, beds are soft. Truly 5 stars.
  • View of French Quarter was nice, but view of river mostly blocked by other hotels.

“This place was truly a 5 star hotel. The service was wonderful. They grabbed our bags from the taxi, got us checked in, and took us to our room on the 25th floor. Very nice view of the French Quarter, but view of the river was pretty well obstructed by other hotels. The beds were so soft and comfortable. Our room had a mini refrigerator but I bought two big muffuletta sandwiches the night before we left and they wouldn't fit in the mini. The staff offered to have a bigger refrigerator brought to our room. I almost had to argue with them that keeping the sandwiches in the kitchen refrigerator overnight was all I needed. These people were truly the friendliest I've ever met in a hotel.”

  • Wonderful, beautiful hotel right at the edge of the French Quarter and right by the casino.
  • There won't anything I didn't like

“This was a great experience, we got this room for a hundred a night which is a third of what it would have cost us otherwise. I had a corner room with a great view. It is just on the edge of the French Quarter, close to shopping, restaurants and the casino but out of the foot traffic and crowds of the Quarter. This was an amazing value.”

  • great location one block from the French Quarter and one block to St Charles Streetcar
  • If you like cozy hotel bars, this is not the hotel for you.

“Nice hotel convenient to the French Quarter and St Charles Streetcar (one block from each). Polite staff, clean, quiet rooms. Steps from several fine restaurants and trendy bars. If you like cozy hotel bars for a late night toddy before bed, this is not the hotel for you. There were complimentary pralines in the afternoon when I was there. Yummy!”

  • This hotel had a great location, clean upscale rooms & nice staff.
  • Room service was VERY slow in answering.

“We had a great stay here. The staff was helpful. The hotel had sparse, but upscale decor. The rooms & bathrooms were very clean (a must). At night, our beds were turned down w/ a robe & mints on the bed. I would definitely stay here again.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[8] • Location:[8]

  • nice location, friendly staff

“The hotel is clean, friendly and in a good location. Beyond those attributes, I would say that you should probably put it into your 2 star category, maybe 3 star TOPS!!! I went to New Orleans expecting a 4 STAR experience based on how you categorized the hotel and I felt badly disappointed. The quality of the amenities, the service, the interior and the finishes, do not speak to a quality experience. It was adequate BUT NOT 4 STAR. ”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[8] • Location:[10]

  • The location is the best reason to stay.
  • $29.00 per day parking is brutal, but the same everywhere.

“My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the JW Marriott and the Renaissance Pere Marquette (located within two blocks of each other) and the Pere Marquette is a better hotel. The JW Marriott is an older hotel that has been updated and was not as nice (especially the size of the bathrooms). I would stay at the JW Marriott again.”

  • room and beds very nice
  • check in staff was not too helpful or friendly

“Very nice hotel, good location right on Canal. Beds and rooms very nice. Coffe maker but only styro cups, real ones would have been nice too.Check in staff was really slow.. The rest of the staff and the overall experience at the hotel was great. The hotel is a very nice, straight forward business hotel. Not much character or charm but a very nice, comfortable hotel.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[8] • Location:[8]

  • Just moments from the French Quarter! Oh so comfortable beds!
  • Conceirge was a bit snotty. Bathroom a bit on the small side.

“Given the price we paid for the room, the JW Marriott was perfect. Location wise, we were moments from the French Quarter. The staff was friendly and helpful - especially the bellboys. The rooms were clean and the beds were oh so comfortable. The shower pressure was divine. However, in terms of size, the bathroom was on the small side. The breakfast buffett was $14.95 but it was well worth the cost. Little extras like free bottled water and Hershey bars were appreciated.”
