  • Hotel decor is very chic.
  • No connecting rooms for families.

“Very nice. Rooms are pretty. Some bathrooms only have a shower. Bar is great and restaurant is great.”

  • Great style and very clean.
  • It was somewhat far from the convention hall if you are a big guy like one of my friends.

  • Clean and friendly staff. Enjoyed the stay.
  • Parking rate and internet access fees were very expensive. Now a days even smaller hotels provide free internet access.

“If this hotel lower their parking fees and provide free internet access, I would rate is hotel as excellent.”

“It was within walking distance of the CBD and French Quarter. The staff was nice and very knowledgeable of area attractions.”

  • Convenient location, nice room, and
    good value.
  • Pool and gym were
too small, should have better internet access.

“Modernized old-style hotel on edge of French-quarter. Convenient to Bourbon St, Medical Center and Superdome. Well maintained rooms with nice, large bathrooms, high ceilings and big windows. Most smiling and helpful hotel staff I have ever seen. Gym and pool could be bigger.”

  • The front desk staff was
    the friendliest people I've met.
  • The car attendant was very rude to me.

“Good.”

  • The lobby was gorgeous.
  • The cleaning service was
    very inconsistent.

“The hotel was nice as was the staff, but they supposedly had a new cleaning staff and they always forgot to clean or leave the essential items in our room repeatedly.”

Apr 2, 2009 by Dodie from Petaluma,CA

  • The room was larger than most and had great bathroom amenities.
  • The air-conditioning didn't work and the bathroom had little room to place things.

“The hotel is simply gorgeous and the rooms are incredibly comfortable.”

  • Great bed.
  • Parking was mandatory and the charge was $28 per night.

“Nice hotel. Restaurant charges $12 for a grilled cheese sandwich. Local eateries expensive too. Mandatory parking charge of $28 per night.”

  • The staff was extremely nice and all seemed to work well together. The public areas were beautiful.
  • You had to pass bums in the street to get to the hotel. Not the hotel's fault.

“Wonderful hotel and staff. Just off the beaten path which is good. Lovely atmosphere.”

  • The designing of the rooms and lounges.
  • The elevators but I don't like them anyway.

“The first thing I noticed was that the rooms were a little small, but that did not matter. It is a very elegant hotel in a good area, if you want to be close to everything. I would definitely recommend.”

  • Sound-proof rooms!

“The first night we checked in, we were given a corner room with a Murphy bed. The room was cold, but the HVAC unit would only drove me crazy. There were no extra blankets in the room, so we took some of the bath towels and used them on top of the blanket. Once situated in bed, after a long day of travel, the clicker didn't work, but I was too tired to deal with it. I definitely felt they gave us the worst room in the hotel. The front desk also told us we could park on the street on Saturday and Sunday, but we promptly got a ticket. After the first night fiasco, the stay was lovely.”

  • Nothing.
  • Ultra-rude desk clerk gave us a closet-size corner room that could not even fit a cot.

“Awful experience. Rude clerks, long wait to check in or check out. Avoid this hotel at all costs.”

  • Great location, great city views.
  • Expensive parking, historic hotel but also historic rooms.

“Marriott and Renaissance almost always run a first class show and this property is no exception. This is a historic property and accept that one can only do so much in modernizing space from the 1920s. You will find a nice ambiance and considerate staff--a Marriott trademark. There is free internet in the lobby. This is a very well-located property less than two blocks to Bourbon street, but in a quiet area. Parking was high at $28, but there is a parking garage close by for $20 a day. The property also has a nice Club Level lounge which is closed on Saturdays.”
