“Modernized old-style hotel on edge of French-quarter. Convenient to Bourbon St, Medical Center and Superdome. Well maintained rooms with nice, large bathrooms, high ceilings and big windows. Most smiling and helpful hotel staff I have ever seen. Gym and pool could be bigger.”

“The hotel was nice as was the staff, but they supposedly had a new cleaning staff and they always forgot to clean or leave the essential items in our room repeatedly.”

“The first thing I noticed was that the rooms were a little small, but that did not matter. It is a very elegant hotel in a good area, if you want to be close to everything. I would definitely recommend.”

“The first night we checked in, we were given a corner room with a Murphy bed. The room was cold, but the HVAC unit would only drove me crazy. There were no extra blankets in the room, so we took some of the bath towels and used them on top of the blanket. Once situated in bed, after a long day of travel, the clicker didn't work, but I was too tired to deal with it. I definitely felt they gave us the worst room in the hotel. The front desk also told us we could park on the street on Saturday and Sunday, but we promptly got a ticket. After the first night fiasco, the stay was lovely.”

“Awful experience. Rude clerks, long wait to check in or check out. Avoid this hotel at all costs.”

“Marriott and Renaissance almost always run a first class show and this property is no exception. This is a historic property and accept that one can only do so much in modernizing space from the 1920s. You will find a nice ambiance and considerate staff--a Marriott trademark. There is free internet in the lobby. This is a very well-located property less than two blocks to Bourbon street, but in a quiet area. Parking was high at $28, but there is a parking garage close by for $20 a day. The property also has a nice Club Level lounge which is closed on Saturdays.”
