• The convenience to downtown and low price.
• The entrance can be difficult to find for patrons traveling from out of town.

• The location was fairly convenient.
• Poor receptionist, rooms unacceptable.

“The employee at the desk when we arrived was rude and seemed to be bothered with any question. I observed this with another customer besides myself. We had to move to three different rooms before we settled on the one we stayed in for one night. That room had heat and water issues.”

• The clerk was nice.
• Scary neighborhood, trains were running constantly, rooms were very run down and dirty.

“My husband and I were blown away at how bad this hotel was. The first room was around the back of the hotel and there is no parking back there. I did not feel safe. The water in the bathtub ran (not dripped) constantly, the outlets were hanging off the wall, there was no clock, the bathtub was disgusting and there was a screw coming through the headboard (the pointy side!). The clerk was very nice and immediately gave us another room which was in the front and bigger. Still wasn't up to par, but a little nicer. I will definitely never stay there again and the parking lot is a joke. There is no where to turn around, so you have to drive backwards out into the street!”

• Pool was clean.
• Mold on the walls of the room, carpet dirty -children's feet turned brown from walking on the carpet.

“Very surprised Super 8 would allow their name associated with this hotel. Needs repair and upkeep bad. Mold on the walls above the bed. Unable to turn bathtub faucet off completely. Feet became dirty from walking on the carpet in the room without shoes on. Would not stay in this hotel again.”

• Bad location, dirty room with broken door on bathroom.

“This hotel is not a good place to stay for even a few hours. We let our 13 year old son go to the room because he had to use the restroom, but the inside door knob was broken and he got stuck in it. Most of the people we saw at the hotel were actual residents that used the hotel as a low rent apartment complex. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone, anywhere, any time!”

• Shuttle to Beale St.
• Broken furniture, No outlets, closets or restaurants within walking distance.

“My expectations were very low but this hotel got even lower. One thing to know -there's a $3 shuttle to the main strip in Memphis. Just make sure you ask the front desk as he will not tell you. Cabs are pretty cheap though.”

• Very close to the attractions I was there to see.
• Room is next to the elevators and could hear them at night.

“Overall, it was a nice and clean hotel. There's a fridge in every room which is nice also its next to a park that overlooks the Mississippi river. Close to beale sty and the music festival Graceland as well.”

• The continental breakfast was a plus.
• The bathroom needed some repairs to the door and towel bar.

“Overall it was a comfortable room, and there was a fridge and microwave, but the bathroom needed some work. The parking lot was cramped.”

• It was a nice location for what we had planned.
• There was not any other hotel, restaurants, etc. Near this hotel it was a little freaky at night.

“The hotel was ok we had a good time we basically were not there much except to sleep at night but if we were to go back I would probably stay there again only if the price was cheaper for what we got!”

• Helpful & accommodating staff, telephoned to get info. for our visit.
• Dirty refrigerator & no main light on entry to room.

“Arriving late after a 23-hour journey, staff were very helpful, receiving lost luggage during the night. Gave us a small breakfast at our very early morning departure; helped us with transportation to & from Downtown, although occasionally late. Overall, a good stay.”

• Very convenient location right in the middle of everything I wanted to do and see.
• Some of the rooms are not so clean.

“when I got to the hotel the room they gave me was filthy! it had dead bugs all under the bed, it was supposed to be non-smoking and there were cigarette butts all under the bed as well but when I called the desk they gave me another room no problem! Unfortunately when I woke up the next day the people above me flooded their bathroom which flooded mine so I had to change rooms again but the staff was so friendly I didn't really mind so the last room I got was clean and dry I had two good nights there despite the troubles!”

• Convenient location for downtown and Beale street.
• Much of the motel was not up to Super 8 standards. The guest laundry was out of service. Pool and ice machines not maintained. Dirty and worn.

“The motel was in disrepair. Things were falling apart in the motel room as well as the building! The owners and staff didn't understand people very well. I expected better from a super 8. Enjoyed the city of Memphis!”

• The clerk was friendly.
• Bad area, room smelled strongly of bleach, next to working train track.

“The room was clean, but I would not stay here again. The train kept me up all night, car alarms went off a few times during the night and the room smelled like bleach. The locks on the doors was broken, so we had to get the clerk to let us in the room. This was a scary area- I was glad to get checked out and on my way.”

“This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. This was supposed to be a romantic weekend away and instead we couldn't wait to get out. We were very disappointed and felt like we "threw away" money we really didn't have to begin with.”

“Had to change rooms several times!1st room- discovered toilet did not flush (problems started about 9:30pm). 2nd room- key would not open door, hallway pitch black-no lights anywhere! 3rd room- bed broken & door would not shut. 4th room- nasty stains on floor, clothes rods rusty, shower curtain moldy & reddish-brown stains on doors. Upon checkout, when asked how our stay was & I said not good, the staff quickly brushed us off & said we were free to go. Did not want to hear about why it was not good. We were on a limited budget honeymoon & this didn't make nice memories! I would NOT recommend this hotel to ANYONE!!”
