“Nice, could be excellent with restoration of finer details of this older hotel.”

“Very neat, old hotel that has been remodeled. The rooms seemed to be done very well as far as decorating goes. Many things in the lobby and hallways seemed unfinished or had broken fixtures but didn't really bother us. Our room was clean, thats a biggie to us. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Old hotels are always neat to me, just would be much better if they would finish off the little details.”

“Booked 2 rooms which listed it as 3 star hotel. It is 2 star at best. Both original rooms were not clean at 7:00PM check-in. One bathtub had standing brown sewage water in it. The staff found us 2 new rooms, but they were now on separate floors. The staff is great people. They made the best of what they have to work with. The swimming pool has been closed for over a year, so don't count on it when you check-in. Location is good. I could walk to most everything I wanted to go to. No parking. Public parking is $16 per day. WiFi is weak and slow, but works. Old hotel with charm. Rooms are suites with separate bed/living rooms with 2 TV's.”

“It is pretty but not at all what I expected from the online pictures. We reserved two rooms and were told they would be next door to each other. When we got there they were all the way down the hall from each other. The rooms were very crowded! We ordered a continental breakfast and it was very over priced for very little food!”

“I'm sure this is a great place for business travelers. We had two small children and were in town for a children's event. The parking was far away and scary to get in and out of . It was hard to leave your car for a minute to get checked in. The pool was closed. The vending machines were scarce. We had to buy bottled water from the bar. There is construction all around the area so it seemed unsafe outside with people lingering and watching. It was a hard trip with two small children, strollers, etc. There was no place to eat except the restaurant. We had to go several miles to get to a MacDonald's.”

“The building itself is neat with all the old fixtures, but beyond that it lacked what an upscale hotel needs. The lobby is very small and the elevators were most definitely original, in that they too were really small no more than 3-4 AVERAGE size persons and minimal luggage. Our room was very narrow and long--a sitting room with a TV that didn't work, the bedroom had a king bed and a TV on the wall--so close to the bed that it hurt your eyes to watch it! Bathroom was small and the tub was dirty.”

“Room was huge and clean. Bed was comfortable. The only downsides to this hotel was the construction next door and no vending machines. Staff was friendly.”

“Original elevators were very slow and I noticed many guests getting aggravated but I admired their beauty and uniqueness. Our room was beautifully decorated, nice bedding and very comfortable. The black furniture was pretty but very dusty, probably because the room hadn't been used in a day or so, black shows dust very easy. Windows needed to be cleaned on the inside. This hotel does not have their own parking garage and shares one with the Renaissance, however the downtown hotels were full due to special events and the Renaissance would not allow guests from our hotel to use it.”

“I thought the hotel was absolutely beautiful. Parking was limited but we worked our way around that. The staff was friendly and the restaurant's food was wonderful. The only negative thing was that one of our kids got sick early in the morning (before 4:00 am) and the housekeeping staff was not available to bring fresh linens. Overall, it was a great stay. Our children enjoyed it as much as we did.”

“The hotel is a little run down, but the rooms were very beautiful and spacious. The first lady that I spoke to on the phone was a bit rude and not helpful. There is no parking so it is another expense to use the garage located very conveniently across the street.”

“I was shocked that this was a Wyndham hotel in this condition. The room was dirty and walls needed to be painted.”

“The hotel is attractive with the old architecture and the staff was helpful and friendly. But the elevators were very slow (waited 5-15 min. every time). Room keys didn't work had to walk down and back up 11 flights of stairs after waiting 10 minutes for elevator. New key also did not work.

“Downtown Saint Louis location near metro stop. Aging and a little worn if that bothers those wanting everything shined up. Very helpful staff.”

“Floors in hotel bathtrooms were brick tile which echoed badly from above. Hotel staff was unfriendly and seemed to want to avoid guests.”

“Nice place, very central to the downtown area. Good spot for anyone going to a cards game. We had a suite and the room was nice but the bathroom needed a makeover and the TV should be flat screen by now in a 3 or 4 star hotel.”

“It was a lovely place to stay with retro feeling. A really peaceful evening in a very unique bar with a wonderful bartender that had interesting stories. The room with the huge TV was great. Truly an experience in itself.
