• They gave down pillows on request.
• Given a smoking room and only 1 bed, smelled horrible of smoke and mildew.

“Will never recommend it. The smoking room was below poor quality. I don't smoke and made this clear Mike the check in guy said it was the only room. The hotel smelled of mildew and really I'm not even a picky person.”

• Great staff from checkin to checkout.
• Slow elevators, close to freeway so little noisy.

“For price would highly recommend. Staff from waiters, waitresses, bartender, counter help were all nice and helpful. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable.”

• It was very nice except we wonderered if it had been really cleaned good from last people
• toilet wasn't flushed and there were little hearts all over the floor which were pretty but was the room cleaned?

• Friendly front desk personnel and staff

“First, the price was great. Then the guy at the front desk was very friendly and genuine. Then the housekeeper left a note saying how much they appreciated our business and left a bag of popcorn for us. It was a small gesture but made a big impact on us. Highly recommend.”

• Swimming pool was not clean.

• Toilet did not work and would not be addressed.

“Toilet didn't work why do I have to secure the seal every time it was flushed. Overflowed and ran constantly. Was ignored when I notified the staff. Will never stay there again.”

• Friendliness of staff.
• The unpleasant smell.

“All of the hotel staff was very friendly. However, I won't stay here again due to the musty odor that permeated everything. I had to leave the sliding door opened with the heat on high in order to sleep. While in St Louis, the stench on my clothes that had hung on the room rack was noticeable and embarrassing. On returning home the entire contents of my luggage had to be laundered and aired out.”

• Nice pool, but didn't turn lights on at night.
• Room was old looking and filthy. Housekeeping didn't clean in between nights.

“This is definitely not a 3 star hotel. The last time I stayed in a room that nasty I was at a Motel 6. We found a cigarette butt on the floor from a previous traveler in the room, the room smelled terrible, corners of the room and bathroom were not cleaned at all. The rug felt damp all over. Staff responded poorly to our complaints. Housekeeping threw some towels on our bed for our 2nd night, but didn't make beds or remove garbage. We had to call down for other toiletries because they were not restocked.”

• Front desk staff was nice.
• The smell. The lack of cleanliness. The plumbing.

“Well let's see. The hotel and restaurant had a horrible mildew smell. In the room, the phones didn't work, couldn't call the front desk. The sheets were dirty. The room was dirty. The sink and tub didn't drain. My son and I got athletes foot from the dirty shower. Overall, poor stay.”

• Convenient to desired attractions.
• Balcony door did not lock.

“Overall, I was pleased with the Holiday Inn, Forest Park. The hotel had been recently renovated, so the rooms were in good shape. The front desk staff was friendly upon check-in/out, and the outdoor pool was open and in good shape, which was essential with two kids and 95-degree weather! My only complaint was that the sliding door to our balcony did not have a functioning lock. I was not overly concerned considering we were on the 6th floor, but it did detract from my otherwise good impression.”

• Located on I-44 was convenient with hwy 40 construction.

“This hotel was lumped in the Clayton and Forest Park Area of St. Louis. Not located there it is on HWY 44 and at least 10 minutes away from the area.”

• It was convenient to the venues I was attending.
• Would like more selections of stations on the TV.

“The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well stocked. I would use this hotel again, and recommend this hotel to friends and co-workers.”
