• Ice machine broken and air conditioner in stairwell not working.

“This hotel at least my room was so dirty I felt I needed to clean it myself. There was a sticky substance all over phone and remote and room smelled very musty. My daughter and I were out of room by 8am and returned at around 3pm on Saturday to find the maid just about to enter our room and instead of cleaning it; she just said she was so busy and offered towels instead. Had trouble with keys also. Very disappointed, and felt like we needed a shower after leaving.”

“The hotel is one of few in Macomb and is rather unimpressive. It is run-down and the staff was not that helpful. I would only stay there again as a last resort.”

• It was clean. The staff was pleasant.
• The pillows were too thin.

“Excellent location to the Western Illinois University campus. The room was clean. Even though it was a non-designated smoking room, it did not smell like smoke. The continental breakfast offered was okay - bagels, donuts, biscuits and gravy, cereal, yogurt, coffee, orange juice, apple juice. The indoor pool looked clean. The staff was pleasant.”

• This hotel was close to western Illinois university.
• The walls are thing and noise travels.

“This hotel is close to wig. The hotel could use a little updating. The walls are thin and you hear all the outside noises of other people and cars traveling down the highway.”

• The free breakfast was very good.
• The hot tub was broken.

“We've stayed here before and we were happy to stay again. The free breakfast was as good as last time. I wish the hot tub had been working. Staff was great.”

• Attractive facility helpful staff.
• Room smelled of cigarette smoke.

“Very accessible and easy to locate. Quick/easy check in and check out process. Helpful staff. Close parking and easy access to room. Exterior lighting good. Room smelled of cigarette smoke. Suggest requesting a non smoking room if you're a non smoker. Comfortable bedding.”

• Great free breakfast--more than just juice and donuts!!!!
• Nothing!

“My 10 year-old daughter LOVED this hotel. Near campus, great free, hot breakfast. Pool area was gorgeous--pool, hot tub, and sauna were very nice. Very clean. Staff was very pleasant, too.”

• The pool.
• No elevator, no A/C in hallway, pool area 100 degrees.

“The room was clean, the hallway was not as clean as I expected. The pool had too much chlorine. The staff was wonderful, very nice, I felt sorry for the heat they had to work in.”

• I liked the price I got for the room. Otherwise didn't have even basic things like coffeemaker or internet.
• The air conditioning barely worked in the rooms, the hallways weren't air conditioned, the beds were hard and uncomfortable.

“I was very disappointed in this hotel. Overall, it seemed very rundown. The air conditioning barely worked in the rooms and it was 90 degrees outside. My sister was staying in a room down the hall from me and her air conditioning went out completely in the night. The hallways weren't air conditioned at all. The first room I was put into, there was a Styrofoam cup and paper towel pushed up over one of the sprinklers in the room--a clear violation of fire regs. Basic comfort was even poor in some areas: There was no coffee making center. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. The pool had so much chlorine in it that my nephew had a reaction to it and his eyes became terribly swollen. We ordered a pay-per-view movie and halfway through it went out. As I said, a rundown, poorly maintained hotel. There was no Internet access in the hotel and even with wireless capabilities, you can't pick up a wireless portal anywhere around the hotel.”

• Cleanliness and Convenience!
• Our son was not fond of the breakfast.

“We could not get over how quickly a reservation was found at such a last minute during a tournament weekend. The room we ended up with was large and accommodated our needs. The Murphy Bed was much more comfortable than expected.”

• I requested a non-smoking room and didn't receive one.

“Excellent continental breakfast, could have used a better location for the breakfast instead of in the way of the front desk. Very friendly staff and very clean. Great area for fast downtown entry, but still in the country.”

• I was assigned a "handicap" room, which I did not need. I thought this was inappropriate.

“If you simply need a quick place to stay overnight, then it is not too far from Western Illinois University and is relatively clean. I wouldn't stay longer than one night there. The front desk staff, however, is very friendly and they have a nice pool.”
