  • It had a pool and a refrigerator.
  • The elevator smells and the outside trash can is always overflowing with trash.

  • Nice, comfortable rooms.
  • Upstairs neighbors could be heard walking around at all hours, a.m. breakfast not kept up to serve guests, everything empty.

“Clean, comfortable, nice hotel in a convenient area of town.”

  • Clean, not only in the room, but lobby and hallways.
  • Nothing, It's a great motel!

“Nice breakfast. Even had skim milk that I prefer. Waffles were available. The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean. Internet was available, and no time limit. Quiet. We never heard a sound at night. Lots of towels. Friendly employees! Great place to stay!”

  • It was really clean.
  • Heater was broken.

“The hotel was easy to find and the room was clean. However the heater was broken which was not really a problem but it was a little cold in the room. The free breakfast was okay, nothing to write home about and the juice machine was broken. The wireless internet in the room was good, got almost full strength. Checkout was easy.”

Cleanliness:[6] • Staff:[5] • Location:[7]

  • Large suite rooms.
  • Small vanity.

“I was pleasantly surprised. I normally never stay in 1 or 2 star hotels, but it was a great price for the 2-room suite, and definitely worth the extra few dollars. The second room has a full recliner (very nice), large sofa and fridge. Definitely get suite if you plan on staying here. The vanity is very small. Overall good experience.”

  • Easy access, not too busy.
  • Potential for being noisy if you don't get a good room.

“Very satisfied with this hotel, it's one of the best Fairfield Inns I've stayed in.”

“It is a nice, friendly place to stay with computer access.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[7] • Location:[8]

  • The bedspread was just a runner that kept the bed clean from stuff set on it. The rest was washed and clean unlike many hotel bedspreads.
  • The Jacuzzi didn't bubble very well.

“Great value, clean rooms. I really like the new system where there is not a bedspread. Just a runner at the foot to put stuff on and the rest of the bed is really clean. Lots of pillows and a great mattress.”

  • I liked the free breakfast, it was close to the people we were visiting.
  • I did not like hearing kids running in the halls while trying to sleep.

“The hotel was clean, comfortable and perfect for what we needed.”

Cleanliness:[6] • Staff:[8] • Location:[9]

  • Convenience to restaurants, highway.
  • Sauna too hot, floors too thin.

“The Fairfield is an excellent choice for stays in Muscatine. I've stayed at the holiday inn and American in Muscatine and Fairfield inn was on par in many categories. Be sure to ask for a room on the top floor (3rd) to avoid having to listen to your upstairs neighbor walking around. Soundproofing between rooms and from the outside seemed standard for this class of hotel. The receptionist worked with me to find a room at the end with no one next to it - at least for the 1st night. Bring your swimming trunks as there is a heated pool, not Olympic size but adequate and a whirlpool. Both were clean, however the whirlpool wasn't real powerful, it sure was hot enough! Breakfast was standard waffle maker, assorted breakfast cereals, good orange juice and coffee; pastries were nothing to write home about. Free newspaper and Newsweek are a nice touch. ”

  • Cleanliness quietness.
  • Had no clue until after check in that it had become a smoke free hotel was very upset about having to go outside in the middle of winter.

“Everything was great except again for the fact that I had no clue it was anon smoking hotel and that I would have to stand outside in the middle of winter to smoke.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[6] • Location:[8]

  • They had nice bed linens and not the typical plastic hotel comforter.
  • One staff member was rude during a computer mix-up with reservation.

“All in all a nice experience. Hotel staff opened pool for us at 12:30 for half hour after our wedding reception to let us wind down a bit. Non smoking room smelled cleaner than hallways. Bed linens were very nice with a ton of nice pillows. Most of staff was nice and accommodating. One staff member had no customer service skills when dealing with a computer glitch saying our reservation was for 1 night, and resulted in a phone call with hotel manager. Free breakfast was nice.”
