  • Friendly front desk, comfortable beds, clean rooms, neat in appearance.

“We arrived at the hotel late with a small child. The front desk had a great smile and told me of any thing she thought might be of interest to me and my son. Great beds! I would recommend this place to any one.”

  • Extremely courteous and helpful staff.
  • Way too much deodorizer used in rooms!

“It is nice that hotels are going to non smoking but in some of the older hotels that used to be smoking, they tend to try and hide the smell with deodorizer. I would rather smell the smoke than the horribly strong deodorizer. This is much more damaging to me as it makes me get asthma where my throat closes up and it hurts to breath. Need to stop using so much deodorizer.”

  • The view from our hotel room.
  • It smelled funny.

“The hotel was okay. It was not the best quality, but it was do able. There is a stale funny odor throughout the lobby and parts of the hotel. The elevators seem very old and shaky. The jacuzzi was a green color and had bugs floating in it. The hotel room itself was clean and the view was nice. Overall, this hotel was about average.”

  • Great bed.
  • Cleaning staff talking. A little noisy in the hallway on Sunday morning.

“This is the best location in B.R. From here you can easily get to the LSU campus and downtown. It's in the corporate square business area, so no atmosphere; it's surrounded by parking areas, strip shopping and buildings, but there are several good restaurants within walking distance and many more inside 10 minutes drive. And most important, it's safe. The staff was friendly. There was a problem with the elevators being slow, but since it was the weekend I did not see this as a big problem. It was a great experience.”

  • The doorman and desk clerk were very nice. I got more than I was expecting. Overall good service.
  • Overall the little things in maintenance needed a lot of work.

“The hotel was not the easiest to get to from the highway but it was very close. The people overall were great. There were a lot of little things that needed to be repaired. I did not like that it said the pool hours were until 11 and we planned our time accordingly and then to get kicked out at 10:15 shortly after we got in. The security guy said I told them they need to change their sign. Sounds like a lot of things not being done.”

  • Decorated beautifully.
  • Cleanliness.

“Upon arrival, I thought the hotel was very nice. The attendant was extremely nice and helpful. Due to the late check in time, we did not have enough time to spend time at the pool because it closed fairly early. In addition, when we arrived, the bathroom looked as though someone rushed through cleaning. The shower curtain was held on by duct tape. The previous resident's room service menu was still in my room and was dirty. More time could have been spent cleaning in my opinion.”

  • It was nice and clean.
  • PPV (pay per view) movies were 3 times higher and no free internet, even cheap hotels have free internet.

“The hotel was nice and clean, good location, friendly staff. The only downfall is the movies to buy on the TV were 3 times higher than other hotels. These are nice to keep kids occupied. I couldn't believe that they didn't give free internet.”

  • The location of the hotel is terrific.
  • It was not impressive for the price.

“The hotel was ok. It's in a great location, unless you are trying to go somewhere for lunch. Then it's impossible. I wasn't impressed with the rooms at all. They gave away the king size bed and the cafe they have in the lobby is not good at all. The staff was friendly, but I felt that the room was just ok, especially for the price. I had a friend staying in the Holiday Inn across the street and her room was much nicer.”

  • Cleanliness and overall appearance of the room.
  • The bed mattress was very hard. I did not get much sleep and woke up with sore back.

“You feel like you are in a high class hotel when entering the front door. Once I got to the room I noticed everything was very clean and looked very nice. The presentation of the bed really caught my eye. I was very satisfied with this room except for the mattress on the bed making me very sore the next morning.”

  • The rooms were very nice and the overall appearance of the hotel was very nice.
  • The room rate was high.

  • Location and friendly staff make for a great visit to baton rouge.
  • The swivel chair in the room was dusty.

“I have stayed at the baton rouge Marriott many times. This Marriott is my first choice when visiting baton rouge. The staff members are friendly and extremely accommodating. The breakfast dining is excellent.”

  • The staff was nice.
  • No customer service by Marriott corporate offices.

“Most of the staff at this hotel was very pleasant. The place is a bit old, but it is not bad. My problem is that the staff kept a faulty elevator working. Actually, there were problems with the bathroom and the elevators my entire stay. The biggest problem is that after leaving I can not get service from customer service. The local Baton Rouge Marriott sends you to corporate and they do not seem interested in resolving customer problems. Perhaps it is better to book with smaller hotels that can resolve problems on their own and cannot hide behind a large corporation. When people realize they cannot resolve a problem and stop staying at the Marriott, maybe they will get back to treating their customers like humans like they did in the good old days.”

  • We were in Room 708 and the bathroom was extremely small; counters low.

  • The overall facility was very nice. I used the pool and fitness center and both met my expectations. The room was comfortable and clean.
  • For some reason we did not have hot water on the 2nd day of our stay, and I had to pay for internet access in my room. Boo!.
