• The staff were outstanding.
• Run down, not clean, thin walls.

“I almost hate to give this hotel a poor review because the staff were so friendly and helpful. However, this was one of the worst hotels I've ever frequented. There is no way they should have a three star rating. The hotel is very run down and dirty. The sheets on the beds were cheap and scratchy and the walls are very thin.”

• Swimming pools and water slide, pool deck, and continental breakfast.
• Couldn't stay longer.

• Location was good. lighting in the parking lot was good - we had bikes locked on the back of our vehicle and felt they were safe.
• The hotel staff was extremely unfriendly, not courteous to us as guests and not at all helpful.

“We had three negative experiences with the hotel staff: We were disappointed that the restaurant closed at 8:30 pm - that seemed extremely early to us. Our room was located next to the housekeeping headquarters and starting at 7:30 am, two members of the staff were stationed outside our door having a conversation and speaking very loudly. The walls were so thin, we could literally hear every word they were saying. After 20 minutes, I went out and asked them to please be quiet since we were trying to sleep. They were quiet for about 15 minutes, but then started up the conversation again and even added a very loud radio. When we tried to communicate our frustrations to the woman working at the front desk, she could not have been more indifferent. She didn't offer a simple apology - just shrugged her shoulders and said she needed to answer the ringing phone. Needless to say we would not recommend this hotel to anyone else.”

• Friendly, nice rooms, and loved the water park. The slide was awesome.
• No problems.

“Would go there again. Close to everything from restaurant to sight seeing loved to sit by the dock and watch the boats outdoor patio and bar were awesome love the water park slide too.”

• The pool area was very nice for the kids.
• The room was freezing cold, and the bath room shower was broke.

“Overall the hotel was generally nice. The room was a bit dated. The heat was off in the room and it was freezing cold. After we requested to have the heat turned up by maintenance it actually got cooler and when we called the front desk to get some assistance no one answered. Also, the shower needed some work. The shower nozzle was broke so it could not be adjusted and my kids couldn't getting blasted by the shower head. The restaraunt was generally nice and the food was OK.”

• Location and price.
• Itchy sheets and mold on bathroom walls.

“Overall appearance of the hotel was fine. When we climbed into bed, we started to itch like crazy. I do not know if there were bed bugs or the sheets were washed with too much detergant, but we itched all night. My husband woke up with a scab over a spot that he had rubbed raw. There appeared to be black mold spots on the bathroom wall also. Other than that, all else was fine.”

• The location was pretty good.
• There is a pool area right outside the rooms which was loud with kids early in the morning. Not a 3 star.

• The slide was fun for children over 48" tall, there was also a VCR in the room - unfortunately, we did not have any of this information in advance.
• The squeaky, hard, small, beds were very uncomfortable.

“The hotel was okay. It is too far from historical downtown La Crosse to walk. Most of the staff was kind, but not overly helpful. One night we asked the front desk if we could use a bottle opener and we were told, "no," but when we checked with the bar, they lent us one. The continental breakfast was an additional $3 per person if you wanted the eggs, meat, potatoes, or waffles and they ran out of coffee/food each morning we were there. Children need to be 48" tall in order to go down the slide. There was a VCR in the room, but because we didn't have this information in advance, we did not bring any video tapes. The whirlpool was full of sand/dirt at the bottom. the pool towels were similar to paper towels and they were out of towels nearly every time we visited the pool. Next time we will stay at one of the downtown hotels with more attractions within walking distance.”

• We liked that it pets were allowed. We brought our dog.
• Had to pay extra for their "hot" continental breakfast.

• The pool was conveniently located; my kids were satisfied with it.
• Other guests were way too noisy in the hallway late at night, hard to sleep.

“Hotel was nice, waterpark wasn't very big, but my kids were satisfied with it. Beds were not very comfortable, but overall layout of room was nice. I would probably not stay here again due to all the late night noise that kept us up.”

• I liked the room amenities, fridge, iron, coffee maker, hair dryer and mostly the excellent wireless access.
• The electrical outlets seemed in need of repair, saw sparks when plugging in a few items. The beds were a bit uncomfortable.

“Overall good place to stay for the price was very pleased with the clean environment, very friendly cleaning ladies, nice location and productive wireless access and internet speed.”
