Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[10] • Location:[9]

  • Convenient location, accessable to many dinning choices.
  • Stucco above the tub was falling apart, general maintenance not the best.

“Wonderful staff, great location, good amenities. The maintenance was a little poor since the ceiling was coming apart a little and the wall paper separating a little. Nice TV, however no WiFi access.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[3] • Location:[9]

  • I only stayed one night, that is the only positive thing about the hotel.
  • It is a party destination. Could not sleep due to noise in hallways. The curtains in the room did not close all the way.

“Terrible language - while unloading the car, in the lobby and in the halls on my floor. The curtains in the room did not close all the way. An 18 inch gap, not just small gaps where a little light would get through. The light in the room was like it was noon. Street lights and the lights from downtown Iowa City. The hotel offered no solution.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Great location and great staff.
  • The bed gave me a back hurt.

“Other than the bed was uncomfortable and made my back hurt - everything else was great and I would recommend it to anyone who asks. It was very clean and all the staff was helpful and friendly and professional. This hotel is located in a great area with plenty to do and see.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[7] • Location:[10]

  • Location in Downtown was nice to get away from the "mall type hotels".

“Comfortable beds, quiet location close to great restaurants.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[7] • Location:[10]

  • Great location right on the downtown Ped Mall.
  • Facilities a little run down and not maintained up to snuff.

“The Iowa City Sheraton is ideally located off the Ped Mall in downtown Iowa City. Restaurants, shopping and the university are all within walking distance. Parking is $10 per day in the adjacent city garage. The hotel pool area is rundown; the computer terminal is slow and oversubscribed, and the front desk staff is distracted.”

Cleanliness:[6] • Staff:[7] • Location:[6]

  • Location was good.
  • Noise level in the rooms poor, air-conditioning ventilation was not good.

“This stay was better than in past. Room was quieter, except it was above the outside courtyard which was noisy until 2 AM in the morning, suggest they provide ear hushers. Air conditioning was vented so the air blew into the window drapes? Had to find something to block the curtains so the room would get the air and not the window. Other than that the staff was great and friendly and the breakfast in room was fantastic for the price.”

  • Proximity to the University.
  • Over priced drinks in the bar.

“This hotel is a great location for parents going to visit their kids at the University of Iowa.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Free cookies, coffee, and occasional fruit at the registration desk. Nice perk!
  • Everything was very nice.

“I had a wonderful stay at the Sheraton and don't have any thing to say negatively about it. Location was perfect with many shops and eateries that were right outside of the door.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Great location and staff super helpful.
  • Had to park my truck and trailer in what I felt was an unsecured lot.

“Very clean. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. When I return to Iowa City for visits I will try to stay here again (if I can get a good price).”

Cleanliness:[6] • Staff:[4] • Location:[9]

  • I really liked the location and TV sets.
  • Parking $10/night & $12/night for cot. Unfriendly front desk girls. Pool & hot tub dirty.

“The location of this hotel is wonderful. It couldn't be better for a family. The hotel room had comfy beds, a nice sized flat screen TV, and a mini frig. The room overall. We found wasn't very clean. Dirty towels were left in the bathroom from previous customers and the floor throughout the hotel was very worn and stained. The hotel had a magnificent workout room, a decent pool, patio (indoor and out) and hot tub, but the pool and hot tub looked dirty (sand in the bottom etc). The staff in the bar was very friendly as was the management. Parking per night is $10. There is no where else to park. I liked the daily paper at my door each morning, but would have rather had a continental breakfast which was not provided. The average cost of a breakfast item was around $7-10. This was not my favorite hotel but I did like the location.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[9] • Location:[10]

  • The gym facilities were excellent.
  • Noisy air conditioner and the first room they gave us was not ready for renting.

“Overall we enjoyed our stay, but there was some confusion at check-in. They gave us a room that was not completely cleaned, but then immediately remedied the situation by giving us a better room. Our second room was fine.”

Cleanliness:[5] • Staff:[8] • Location:[5]

  • The large playground and shops right out the back door.
  • Having to pay for parking in addition to the room.

“We had to drive a few minutes off of 80 to get there, but it was well worth it to have the playground for our kids that had been trapped in the car for hours and it was nice to have the shops, etc. right out the door. Did not like that we had to pay additional money for parking, which we would not have had to do if we had stayed a place right of the highway.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[6] • Location:[8]

  • Room furnishings (beds, TV, bathroom counter space) were nice.
  • The only drinking glasses available in the room were paper Starbucks cups. Icemaker did not work.

“This hotel is nice enough and typical of a downtown hotel. However, I was unpleasantly surprised that the Iowa City lodging and sales tax were so high. Self-parking overnight was $10, in-room internet would have been another $10. The free lobby computer was having problems and couldn't connect to the internet. Rooms have only paper Starbucks cups for drinking glasses. Not very appealing for wine. The white shower curtain looked clean but smelled like mildew.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[9] • Location:[10]

  • The location.
  • Small beds, parking verification.

“It is in a great location if the traveler wants to see downtown Iowa city. However, I did expect a larger room and larger beds (these rooms had 2 doubles instead of 2 queens).”

Cleanliness:[6] • Staff:[8] • Location:[8]

  • Location.
  • Carpet was a bit damp from previous occupant (beer smell).

“Overall, nice hotel and we had a nice time. Its proximity to downtown Iowa City and the University of Iowa campus was wonderful literally you walk out the back of the hotel onto the ped-way. The pool was small but fine. There is an outside deck that looks out over the downtown ped-way. The hotel is sort of run-down nothing terrible but its certainly no 4 or 5 star fancy hotel.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[8] • Location:[9]

  • Great location on pedestrian mall downtown.
  • $10/day parking with no free alternative.

“I have stayed before and rooms were immaculate. Bed skirt torn & hanging on carpet, carpet very stained, and had lovely view of the roof. Staff very nice, location is great.”

Cleanliness:[3] • Staff:[1] • Location:[8]

  • Lobby/location were nice.
  • Staff was pretentious, room was very disappointing for a supposed 3-star hotel. Charged $10 for parking!

“The staff would not give me the time of day with my 4-year old child. The hotel looks great from the outside, but the rooms are a tiny step above Motel-6 quality. Additionally, they charge $10 for parking. I don't recommend this hotel.”
