“Good hotel for the price had a hard time falling asleep due to music from bar under room not blaring but enough to make it hard to slept.”

“OK, but overall diappointed with the overall stay. I have had better service from this hotel before.”

“They have recently renovated the hotel. All of the rooms are modern with new furniture and interior design. They are still working on the lobby and only one of the elevators was operating, but the room was awesome and staff was friendly.”

“Friendly and efficient staff made a great first impression. The offer of some amenities to make up for the ongoing renovation was much appreciated. The new furniture reminded me of the Streeterville Sheraton on the lakefront in Chicago - nice bed, bed linens, flat panel TV and the thoughtful electronic connections for a laptop. Great location in the heart of downtown Iowa City. Walls a little thin so that hallway chatter can be heard and bothersome later in the evening.”

“We were upset that the pool was under construction. As a family traveling with children we would have liked to know this and it was not documented on their website. We rely on the pool to wear out the kids and help them sleep in a strange environment. Also there was a charge for parking we thought should have been waved in compensation for the many construction inconveniences.”

“Very nice, great location to downtown Iowa City. Under construction made the entrance hard to find but will be even better when the work is done. I would love to stay there again.”

“It is a very comfortable place to stay and the convenience (close to the ped mall and the U of Iowa campus) is unmatched in Iowa City. It's our preferred place to stay when we're in town!”

“Nice experience, but the in-process renovations tainted my stay. Front desk clerk first stuck me in a dusty and musty room right across from the area under renovation, complete with loud power tools. I had to complain in order to be re-assigned to a room on an unaffected floor.”

“The Sheraton Iowa City is right downtown, which is not necessarily great for automobile travelers. The room we stayed in was neat but small. We were in a king room and there was no sofa sleeper in the room. The pool, while clean, was cold. The place had a rundown feel to it, but in fairness, they are undergoing renovation. While billed as a 3.5 star hotel, I've stayed in far better 2 and 2.5 star hotels. Because of the construction, they offered two free buffet breakfasts, which was nice. Parking was $10 in the city garage. One could park on the street, but the neighborhood did not seem conducive to leaving the car out all night.”

“The Sheraton Iowa City is undergoing renovations, so there was noise outside. However, we got a new room and it was excellent. The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, nice spa products in the bathroom, a good breakfast in the upper-level room category.”

“Liked everything about this hotel except loud neighbors. This is a college town so they have a quiet hours statement you sign when you check in. When the neighbors got loud the front desk promised to address it immediately, and I believe they did, but the walls are a bit thin.”

“My daughter and I were in Iowa City for a Hawkeye Day visit at the University of Iowa. The hotel could not have been in a better location for this visit. We were not only able to walk to the University Campus and the downtown area attractions, but we were right in the heart of things. Nice city, great university. Go Hawks!”
