• Price, pet were allowed, would have been convenient if there was no road construction.
• Dirty road, great holes in it, no clear directions to restaurants.

“No amenities but OK as a cheap way-station on your way up to or down from the north shore of lake superior, not a place to eat or spend time, near enough to walk to canal street restaurants in daylight.”

• Staff was pleasant and helpful.
• Room was poorly heated.

“In general, the hotel was in a run down state. The central heating was not performing as required and staff were issuing space heaters to clients, which were all given out prior to our registering so we were out of luck.”

• Front desk staff were friendly and efficient.
• Overpriced for actual quality of the stay by far.

“This hotel was extremely overpriced for the quality of the stay. The parking is awful - everything gets tipped over to one side from parking on such a steep hill! Our shower leaked water all over the bathroom, the heater made the curtains blow halfway over one of the beds, and the television didn't work properly - trying to adjust the volume or channel without the remote made the TV turn off. The walls were dirty. The only good thing was that there was a small refrigerator in our room, which was a pleasant surprise. I would not stay there again, nor would I recommend this hotel to anyone, in short.”

• Dirty old we almost checked out and went some were else.

“We almost checked out right away to find another hotel but were too tired after along day. The second night we stayed just because it was easier to stay then move all our things.”

• It was close to downtown Duluth.
• The air conditioner did not work, It is old and outdated furniture.

“It is better than sleeping in your car but that is about it.”

• Compared to others, it was a lot cheaper.
• Annoying leaking toilet and room door did not completely keep out smoke odors from outside.

“It was what I expected, but not a good hotel if you have a pregnant wife that is vulnerable to smells and noises.”

• Reasonable rates and located near the attractions Duluth has to offer.
• The breakfast offered is nothing to brag about.

• We only slept there from 12am to 7am.
• We only slept there from 12am to 7am. It is ok.

“It is ok; hotel people were friendly and very professional. There breakfast is not what I was expected. The food looked like one day old from bakery, just few donuts and dried English muffins and week old apples and banana. So we have to go nearby caribou.”

• The hotel was inexpensive and clean.
• The man working at the front desk when we arrived was unclean and not friendly.

“Clean and convenient hotel in downtown. Don't stay here if your expecting any luxury, this is a basic Hotel/Motel.”

• Value for the room was good. clean, and comfortable.
• The walls were paper thin. Could hear the other room to easily.

• A floor, ceiling, and four walls.
• Room was always hot, a/c did not work, toilet was very fussy, and beds were hard.

“I would never stay in this hotel ever again. Could not flush the toilet without a lot of work. When you actually get the toilet to flush, the shower water went scolding hot. The room was hot, the windows do not open, and the a/c blew hot and warm air only. This is by far the worst motel I ever stayed in. I would never recommend this place to anyone.”

• Nothing.
• Room cleanliness was awful. Moved us three times. Cold room to a room with hairs on the pillows.

“Would not recommend this motel ever. I am very disappointed in this room that it uses as a room. Very disappointed! Questioning using it again.”

• Had sm. refrigerator, clean, good access to city.
• Parking sideways on steep hill made it hard to get in & out of car & tiny shower.

“Great city access, comfortable rooms, very helpful and friendly staff. nice extra of a small refrigerator in room.”

• Comfort, , location and accessibility.
• Slanted parking outside our room (110) difficultly entering and getting out of car.

“In general, the experience was excellent. I had no problem with the room itself, it was accessible enough, I am not in a wheelchair, but cannot walk far or stand in one spot for any period of time. I gladly noticed the bar in the shower. The sound quality, hearing others speak in adjoined rooms was very limited and not really bothersome. Sincerely, Maureen and Joe.”

• The location was fantastic--within blocks of Superior Street and Canal Park.
• The clerk was downright rude at times, and not at all helpful.

“This hotel is nothing fantastic, but its location is great if you want to be in the heart of Duluth. It's also easy access to the major highways, including those that take you up to the North Shore. So, if you're going to be out and about exploring the area and just need a place to stay and don't mind if the bed linens smell of body odor, this place might be for you. However, don't count on the staff being helpful at all times--while some of the clerks encountered were friendly and helpful, others should seriously consider finding a job not involving customer service, as they lacked social skills and were blatantly rude at times.”

• It was located in downtown Duluth.
• The continental breakfast was lacking.

“The hotel was dated, and that fact was quite apparent. The room was okay, but the heater had wires falling out of it, and it looked like some corners had been clipped when it was redone. It lacked the ammenties of many newer hotels; it didn't have a swimming pool and the continental breakfast was sad. When my family went to eat about half an hour before the breakfast was to end there was two donuts and some bread to make toast....not great. It was okay, but I don't think I will stay there again.”
