  • The place was across the street from Mayo clinic.
  • Shower and toilet was in a closet.

“Location was great and hotel was clean but when I picked the room It would be in a closet. The hot water was leaking and when I tried to bend over it burned my buttock.”

  • Lobby was great. Great location and next to the Mayo clinic and the Subway.
  • Found BM on my toilet seat.

“Great location and next to the Mayo clinic and the Subway. Room size was great and I was one of the lucky one to get a big bathroom. The bed was very hard and it was date with year it was put in (1994) very old bed. Stain on the chairs.”

  • Good location and nice staff
  • old hotel

“We have stayed at this hotel in the past, they charge for parking. Most hotels in Rochester do not.”

  • Location to the Civic Center - Skyway access.
  • The room was way too small and the heat was not able to be controlled.

“The overall look of the hotel is very nice but our room was the smallest room I have ever seen - the heat and or temperature control was a wall unit that could not be controlled. We called down the front desk and they did send someone up that could not understand us and we could not understand them. I would never stay at the Kahlor again nor would I recommend it to anyone.”

  • The location was perfect.
  • There was nothing we didn't like.

“Very friendly and helpful and able to accommodate health issues related to people being treated at the Mayo Clinic.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[8] • Location:[10]

  • Closeness to the Mayo Clinic and downtown, Public areas, Restaurants.
  • The room.

“I am prejudiced because I lived in Rochester and my wedding reception was held at the Kahler in the 1960's. The hotel is so centrally located that you can walk anywhere downtown and there is so much to see and do especially now that the Plazas are completed. It is old and yes, the less expensive rooms need to be updated somewhat but the location (especially the proximity to the Mayo Clinic) and the public areas of the hotel are worth the inconvenience of the room.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[8] • Location:[10]

  • Right across the street from Mayo clinic.
  • Room very small, air not cool enough, no fridge/micro.

“Hotel nice, but very pricey. Room we had very small for a week long stay with sick child. No offer for microwave/fridge. Gift shops all extremely expensive. Very convenient right across from Mayo clinic. Parking addition $10.40 per night. Bottled water left in room $2.78 per bottle. Ice and glasses in room had bad taste and odor, could not use. Did provide rollaway bed.”

  • Location. Nice view of downtown.

“1. Shower consistently goes from cold to hot, nonstop! Bad water pressure! Mold in shower. 2. Beds are hard as stone and lumpy! 3. Only provided one shampoo for multiple guests in room. 4. Towels felt like sandpaper! 5. Hot tub smelled something awful! 6. Charged 10.70 per night for parking! 7. No continental breakfast! 8. Coffee maker in room was too dirty to use! 9. Local calls cost over 80 cents, each! 10. Not what we expected.”
