Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[5]

  • Great room, great bed. nice appointments.
  • Coffee maker should be a regular 4 cup, not one cup. No complimentary shuttle to downtown shopping/night life.

“Great room, arrived very late, so didn't check out anything else in the hotel. Staff was nice. The only drawback is that it is not really close to any of the downtown night life and there is no complimentary shuttle.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • The room was nicely decorated.
  • It was $11 a day per person to use a hot tub.

“I called ahead several days to make sure that I had a room that had a view and a King bed. That was not the case when I arrived. Our room had no outside windows at all. In fact, our only window was right next to the pool with all the loud kids. When I called about where the hot tub was, I was informed that it would cost $11 per day (per person) to use the hot tub. I declined the use of the hot tub. This was a nicely decorated hotel, but if you want to do anything but sleep, it will cost you.”

“Hotel is comfortable and in nice location, make sure you add on for parking. They do not validate and cost is 17.00 a day.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[9] • Location:[9]

  • Nice bed, great view, good bathroom setup.
  • Expensive parking at $17 a day.

“Very nice room, comfy bed, with a view. I liked the granite floors and counter tops in the bathroom. Nice big closet too. Only drawback- internet access over the TV, didn't work well. There were also lots of kids staying in the hotel, and they sat in the free computer lounge, all night and the parking is rather expensive, even for Downtown Maples. Overall nice hotel, and the fitness center ($11 extra/day) is worth a visit.”

  • The room was comfortable and roomy.
  • Safety was a concern; the view was terrible.

“The hotel staff was very courteous and efficient. The location is wonderful, right where you want to be in Downtown Minneapolis, within walking distance of fabulous restaurants, bars, and events. The view from our room wasn't all that pleasant. We saw a bunch of old broken-down buildings, the air conditioning unit for the hotel, and an old tennis court. It was very ugly to look at. Safety in the neighborhood was definitely a concern while we were there. At first we didn't think we were in a bad area, but when we decided to leave the hotel later we saw 16 police cars and several hundred angry, screaming, agitated teenagers piling out of the hotel across the street, the Millennium. The police tried to keep them under control, but there were hundreds of them and only a few police officers. It was clear to us at that point that the city wasn't able to effectively police a potential riot situation, so we went back into the hotel instead of enjoying the nightlife. Hotel security was on site and did a good job of keeping in contact with the police, but the police certainly didn't seem to be taking the situation seriously, so there's only so much the hotel security could do. Still, they did what they could and maintained a presence. Overall, we'd probably stay there again, but the safety in the area would make me hesitant to stay there with children.”

  • Clean.
  • The rooms next to the pool.

“I like the hotel and I've stayed here many times. And I've really like the rooms that I've stayed in. But this time, I had a room that looked out at the pool and it was so loud. I could hear every notice, person, everything, It was suppose to be a relaxing time for me and my fiance and we ended up leaving right away and going home to sleep that morning.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[9] • Location:[8]

  • Lots of pillows, free newspaper, friendly helpful front desk staff, burger was good but pricey.
  • Parking fee, little store in lobby prices were too high, no whirlpool.

“It was a satisfactory stay at an upscale motel. We got to stay at a very nice place. Unexpected parking fee of 17.00/night. Nothing was mentioned of this beforehand, and there appeared to be no parking alternatives there should be no parking fee at all for hotel guests!”

  • Wonderful room. Great beds. Great view.
  • Maid service did not arrive till 4pm throwing off plans and possible naps as you were not sure if they were going to arrive or not.

“Wonderful room. Comfy beds. Nice linens and very clean. Great location for Downtown with great view. Breakfast downstairs was very good and nice. Had dinner at Manny's Steakhouse and is tied with the best steak I have ever had! Spikes sports bar was nice too, did not eat there but good drinks. Maid service did not arrive to make up rooms till 4pm throwing off a possible nap, but did a great job. Highly recommended hotel.”
