• The bed was very comfortable and room nicely appointed.
• No free high-speed connection in my room. Fee for service except in lobby.

• Friendly desk staff; good fitness facility.
• Getting thrown out of fitness room by surly staff because of rock stars.

• Close to convention center.
• $17.00 for parking.

“The hotel was great, but $17.00 dollars for parking. I know parking limited, but if your staying there should it not be free?”

• Room clean, bathroom clean (but not blow dryer), bed comfy.
• Valet and parking needs work. Drive in front of hotel too small for the amount of traffic.

“The room was great. The bed was every comfortable. The bathroom was clean, no mold or mildew in the shower. Only complaint about the room was there was no blow dryer in the bathroom. The only other complaint is the parking situation. The driveway was far too small for all the traffic they have. Checked in at 8 pm on Friday night and couldn't find a space to park for 10 minutes while I checked in and took my bags to my room. I left and came back around 11 pm and still a mess. When I called to valet to get my car the next morning, they said they were backed up and just got to the valet counter at the drive. When I got downstairs there were 30 people waiting for cars. I waited a while for my car but got lucky and it came before many who were waiting before me.”

• Great location for why we were in des Moines.
• Our glasses/plates/drinks were dirty.

“Overall it was a good stay they were not prepared for the amount of people that were there 2 or 3 weddings ran out of food/drinks the glasses, plates were dirty bartender had a hard time finding one that was clean they had already been washed and put in cooler.”

• Food was good.
• Room was next to elevator and it was 32 floors so I heard the elevator going all night.

“The parking was for an over sized truck they were rude at the valet. I pulled in to pick up boxes that were setting right inside the door I had to move and park in street. Walk in the rain across the street to get my boxes that were 30 feet away from me when I pulled in. Room was bad was next to elevator sounded like airplanes taking off all night.”

• My room had a particular odor (musty).

“The restaurant did not have many choices on the menu, and the costs were a little high. The staff were very friendly and willing to help out in any situation.”

• Great location in downtown Des Moines.
• The rooms could use a little updating.

• Excellent beds! Great pillows and bedding. Plus a high-definition flat screen TV.
• Valet parking was expensive - $17 a day.

“This is our second stay at this hotel and we like it a lot. Convenient location, friendly staff, comfy beds with good pillows, flat screen TV - we appreciated them all. Room was well-maintained and very clean. We hope to stay again in future visits to Des Moines.”

• I loved the shuttle service available to guests and that the hotel was connected to the Skywalk.
• It would have been nice to have a microwave or small refrigerator in the room.

“Excellent location in Downtown Des Moines. Within walking distance of most everything you would need. If not, a shuttle service is available. The rooms are comfortable, the beds are fantastic and the staff is very helpful.”

• Pool was outdated.

“This was a great hotel to take our kids to. Kid-friendly, clean, pool. We would love to stay here again.”

• Would like to have another choice besides the "big restaurant".

• Nothing it was fine, kids enjoyed the pool.

• Staff was exceptional, hotel is very well located.
• Noisy on Saturday night until 4 am.

“I've stayed at this hotel off and on for 25 years as a business and leisure traveler but since I last stayed there they've eliminated 3 themed restaurants and a cozy lounge and replaced them with a very common restaurant that has average or below food and wait staff. On the positive side, the bell stand was nearly the best I've ever experienced, they were helpful with alternative restaurant selections and provided excellent transportation to and from restaurants and entertainment.”
