• Swimming pool and game area for the kids.
• Smell of smoke throughout the hotel.

• Staff, rooms, food, no towels.

“The service was awful. The guy cared more about playing his computer games than helping us. We received no towels, the room was not like it was described and either was the continental breakfast. Would never stay there again.”

• The pool area was clean.
• They messed up the room keys twice.

“The pool and game area would be especially nice for families with older children. I enjoyed the view of the outdoors while I swam and it was a safe place for my non-swimmer to practice. The continental breakfast was bleak, but adequate. The hotel was quiet, but there were probably only two other families there in the middle of the week.”

• It was horrible, wish I could have rated it a 0.
• The hotel stunk; it was wet literally, carpet, towels, and sheets.

“Probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Mold everywhere. Everything was damp from the towels to the sheets, even the carpet.”

• Affordable rates and close to the interstate.
• Air conditioning was not working well, and there was no bath tub only a small shower.

“The hotel over all was nice but the air smelled of chlorine and it didn't matter where you were at in the hotel. When you walked in that was all you smelled. Staff was great and treated us with respect. The rooms were not really sound proof and you could hear everything that was going on in the rooms next to you and outside in the common area. Overall, I would have to give the hotel thumbs up; I have been staying at this hotel since I was a little girl with my grandparents.”

• Dirty, unskilled staff.

“The staff had difficulty finding my reservation. They seemed frazzled and unaccommodating. The hotel building seems old. Unattractive. However, they definitely have the lowest rates (without a discount) in West Des Moines.”

• The pool was clean, clear, and warm.
• The room was dusty like it hadn't been used in a long time. There were no towels provided by the pool area and staff were very selfish with towels.

“Parking was not compatible for a pickup truck and trailer. We had to disconnect the trailer from the truck each night. There were no towels in the pool area and the front desk was reluctant in giving any towels for this purpose. We had to clean the room ourselves after checking in as there was a build up of dust and a black ring in the toilet. The sink and the mirror were also not clean. They don't use fitted bottom sheets so they tend to shift all over the bed during the night. I would probably not stay here again.”

• Nice open pool area and small game room for kids.
• Side hallways from outside did not require key card entry for security.

“For our purposes on this trip, we just needed an economical hotel for a one-night stay. We didn't need a lot of extra amenities, just clean sheets and a clean room. We got that, plus a simple continental breakfast, without paying big hotel-chain prices. The staff was friendly and we enjoyed a good stay.”

• It was clean and was the only one available.
• The continental breakfast needs some work.

“We have stayed at this hotel before with our grandkids and the breakfast was the same then. It needs some work to appeal to people. The pool was also a little too cool.”
