“In time, this may be a decent place to stay for a night or two. Remodeling is ongoing and it appears that it will be quite some time before it is completed. Due to construction trailers, parking is almost non-existent. The heavy curtains will not close, leaving a 4' opening that allowed extremely bright lights to shine into the room. At 1:00 a.m. the room was brightly lit. No soda/snack machine located on 2nd floor, closest was on 1st floor on opposite end of building. Bed was decently comfortable and the shower had good pressure.”

“This hotel was under construction during our stay which could explain some of the problems during our stay. Our first problem started when my wife and I tried to take a shower and found the room had no cold water. With no cold water we were not able to take a shower for the entire length of our stay. The second cold water problem. When we told the front desk of the problem they didn't offer anything to resolve the problem. Their response was to say that the hotel was under construction and there wasn't anything he could do about it. He then tried to comfort me by explaining they didn't have hot water last week. In my opinion a shower is half the reason we stay at a hotel. Since we were unable to take a shower the hotel was completely unacceptable.”

“I will definitely stay here again--once the construction is complete. We did not have any problems with noise from the construction, but there was mud and ruts throughout the parking lot. The pillows were not comfortable however; I will take my own next time. Overall, a great value.”

“First arrival. I found a chip package left on table with hole chewed in back by rodent and only decade coffee available for in room use. The move between buildings was bad. Breakfast was not complete asked for butter etc. nothing in crock pot. Coffee cold early AM. Restroom in main lobby had dried urine drippings on the stool rim.”

“Lobby small and cramped. No way to get to lobby from rooms without going outside and around a messy construction site.”

“Hotel was ok but pricey. I have had better continental breakfasts. Overall, hotel was expectable considering their new construction activity. Kansas city hotel market has always been overpriced.”

“Overall this was a nice room. The bathroom needed more counter space and the hot and cold were reversed in the shower. Wonderful continental breakfast with a wide variety including several hot items. Would stay here again.”

“This was a rundown hotel, with few services. The hallways smelled like a bar, yet smoking was not allowed. The pool was closed, the lobby area was closed just after dinner, and their internet connections were down. We were very disappointed.”

“We checked in late at night and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The kids enjoyed the continental breakfast, we were close to all the attractions and dining. The kids wanted to swim but it was cold so staff offered us indoor swimming at the corporations sister hotel across the street. We had a great weekend!”

“This hotel was OK. The room was extremely small for a queen room. We could barely fit the crib! Also, the bed skirt wasn't straightened when we got into the room and the room wasn't as clean as I expected. The bed linens for Marriott are supposed to be all redone and upgraded, but these linens seemed sub par to what I have experience in places like comfort suites. Don't get me wrong, it was a good hotel, but this particular Fairfield reminded me more of a Motel 6 than what I expect from a Marriott brand hotel.”

“Although the room was clean and beds were very good, the bathroom only has counter space for your toothbrush. The sink faces the corner, not the mirror. If you want breakfast get there early before the 20 seats are filled.”

“Hotel was very nice. Pretty close to Worlds of Fun. Maybe just 15 minutes from downtown Kansas City. Only problem was that hotel was overbooked and they seemed to have lost our reservation. We were placed in the smoking section of hotel but were compensated for the mistake. Staff was very friendly and really tried to help. Cleaning was good. Also located next to a lot of restaurants. We would stay there again.”

“Nice hotel for the price. Within walking distance to several restaurants as well as a Super-Wal-Mart. The staff were friendly and helpful. Discount tickets available at the front desk to World's of Fun. On the downside. the bed linens were very worn and the thin blanket on the bed did not provide adequate warmth. There was a deodorizer on the A/C unit that overwhelmed the room with a sweet, candy-like smell. (Even after we took the deodorizer off, it smelled for the rest of our stay).”

“This hotel is conveniently located near a wide variety of restaurants and shopping choices. The bathrooms were clean and towels were plentiful. The room was small, but it contained a desk with a free high-speed Internet connection.”
