• The room was dirty.

“I was very impressed with the room, it was very nice but I noticed several things about the room having not been cleaned. Dirty coffee pot, dirty glasses, etc. I would have liked to understand that there was a heated pool I would really have liked to swim.”

• Very accessible to my conference and room was clean.
• Too dark. Exercise room should be free! Bed was half made on the second day.

“Overall I would say it was nice. The shower was hot and the bed was clean, but staff didn't seem overly helpful (except in the exercise room). The bed being sloppily made the second night really was irritating. Don't bother. Overall the hotel was too dark.”

• Location is ideal for enjoying the newly revived Power and Light District.
• Dry and Wet Sauna area were poorly maintained and in need of an overhaul.

“Location. Westin is ideally located just south of the main hubbub of Downtown KC. Well within walking distance of the Sprint Center, Convention Center and the newly revived Power and Light District you can't ask for a better place to spend a busy weekend. If what you desire is more, low key weekend look no further than the shopping and dining opportunities just outside your room's door at the Crown Center.”

• Usually a good experience staying at the Westin.
• Local Westin staff seemed unwilling to make amends for problem with parking attendant.

“My boss had the Valet staff retrieve our car Friday morning. The parking attendant told my boss that he owed him 9.00, and he disagreed as he had paid for Valet parking when we checked in. My boss told him to look at his hotel receipt. An argument ensued, and my boss said he didn't appreciate being talked to in that manner. When my boss complained to the staff he was told that the garage they use is not owned by Westin, and they have no control over the staff. We don't agree with this because we use subcontractors in our line of work, and we are responsible if they treat our customers bad. He has taken the complaint up with Westin's corporate office. He has asked that this person be fired and that we receive some type of compensation. In all of my years of business travel, I have never witnessed anything like this.”

• Access to Crown Center shops and eateries, and proximity to Union Station.
• Printed instructions on how to get back to the highway were unclear.

“This hotel was quiet, serene and luxurious. I appreciated the mini-bar in the room which had space for my own things that needed refrigeration. I also loved the single-cup coffeemaker, which occupied its own stand in the room's entryway. It provided immediate steaming-hot water for tea anytime I needed it. The proximity to the Crown Center shops and restaurants will provide you with almost everything you need, and the enclosed walkway to Union Station makes transportation a snap.”

• Beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean.
• The parking was $13.50.

“This hotel has a great location. It is connected to an upscale mall so you can get anything without going outside and it is also connected by sky walk to Union Station. I recommend this hotel not just for its location but the beds are comfy and the rooms are clean. I'd definitely stay there again.”

• The adjoining rooms and the ambiance were great.
• Shower was a bit feeble and the room temp was a bit warm.

“Very much enjoyed the stay. Clean rooms, great view, convenient location near lots of attractions. The staff was excellent and the amenities were just what we were looking for. My family enjoyed it a lot and we will return soon!”

• The beds were fantastic and the massages we got were great!
• The room was not very nice, especially for a 5 star hotel. The bathroom needed lots of help.

“It was a nice hotel, not great, but nice. We would stay here again, but the bathroom needed to be updated in a bad way. The staff was helpful and nice and the common areas of the hotel are great. I stayed in this hotel as a kid and it appears the rooms have not changed since then and that was 20 years ago.”

• The beds were great, and the staff was real friendly.
• Parking was a little pricey, but that is too be expected.

“This hotel has amazing check-in ease. The staff was always friendly and helped with directions and helpful hints about places. The beds were amazingly comfortable. The room was very nice. Would love to go back.”

• Safe environment, nice setting, comfortable bed.
• Room we were provided with not so different than a lesser priced hotel.

“It is very a friendly atmosphere however we did not find our room accommodations to be very different from a lesser starred hotel. The restaurants were high priced. We wound up paying $50.00 for breakfast at the hotel restaurant which was very pricey. Prices are not included on the room service menu. The best food for the price we found was the Cafe attached to the train station. The meal, service and price were extremely good. The walk from the train station to the hotel was longer than we had anticipated and could be an issue for someone traveling who needs assistance or is not use to walking a lot. Overall we enjoyed our stay but will opt for another hotel should we return to the area.”

• Outdated, got stuck in conference room not hotel room with Murphy bed kids on couch this was horrible.

“Could not have had a worse stay got stuck in corner meeting room with Murphy being am shampoo made coffee in room put in cream and it curdled looked at coffee bag (star bucks and best used by date was 2 months ago. Complain a little after check in and told were sold out. Next morning with no shampoo and coffee experience brought bad coffee and complained to front desk.”

• The elevators were very slow.

“The hotel was wonderful. We were surprised when we arrived to the room that we were in a corner suite, complete with a bar area and two walk out balconies. I would definitely stay here again.”

• The location was excellent.
• The room was not exemplary of a 4-star hotel.

“I took my girlfriend to the Westin Crown Center for Valentine's Day. Overall, the hotel itself was very clean. The room, however, is not what you would expect for a 4-star hotel. The bed was one that I had to pull out of the wall and it made the room look cheap. There was trash in the cabinets under the wet bar in the room from a previous visitor.”

• Outstanding care for the little things, very friendly, pride in their service and facility.
• Valet attendants were not as engaging initially.

“Excellent facility. Friendly, genuine, service- minded people looking to assist you. First rate accommodations, very well kept. Completely satisfying. I'd highly recommend for personal or business travel, with family or singly planned excursions.”
