  • Classic style boutique hotel on the beautiful Country Club Plaza.
  • Huge garbage dumpster outside out window with a shoot across our window.

“We have been staying at the Raphael for years and have always had a wonderful experience. So it was disappointing this year when 1)the light over our mirrored sink was out and it took 2 calls and 5 hours to get the bulb replaced and 2) the Raphael is located on the beautiful Plaza and our view was of a huge dumpster. When we mentioned it at the front desk they said they were very full but we never saw many people at the hotel nor saw many cars in the hotels parking deck. Next year we may opt for the Intercontinental across the street.”

  • Beautiful building with great furnishings and views. A romantic restaurant
  • Old building with dark hallways and sometimes uncertain heat.

“This is an excellent historic hotel made even better by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. I loved the restaurant and the ambiance of the entire place. And the view of the Country Club Plaza from the higher floors was exceptional. Add to that the comfort of the bed and it was a tremendous place to stay.”
