• It was pretty.
• It was a complete nickel and dimming establishment. Staff unhelpful.

“They also made us feel like we were charged for every minor thing, and at a nice hotel, some amenities should be part of the price you pay, but in this regard, the Intercontinental was more like the Budget Hotel or Holiday Inn.”

• We enjoyed the entertainment in the restaurant and the courtesy of the staff. Great view of the Plaza.
• The water in the room took a little too long to get hot for the shower.

• Close to shopping/dining.
• Concierge service was weak.

“The plush lobby makes a great first impression, but that charm doesn't carry over to the other areas of the hotel. Stay here for the convenient location, but don't expect exceptional service from the staff.”

• The location on the Plaza is superb!
• The guest rooms need updated/remodeled.

“The Intercontinental is a wonderful hotel and conveniently located on The Plaza, close to shopping, dining, entertainment. The staff at the hotel was very helpful. However, our room had not been updated. Also, the hotel was very full that weekend and our room was not cleaned properly, nor were there any towels left.”

• Location; friendly, accommodating staff.
• Room service food was terrible, shower handle broken, rooms outdated.

“Nice hotel, great location, good view of pool/plaza, friendly and accommodating staff. Shower handle was broken, TV armoire doors wouldn't stay open, room service food was horrible, and rooms could use some updating.”

“This hotel was great! The staff was helpful and pleasant. The pool was great! The bed was comfortable. Both my wife and I and the kids ages 4, 2, and 3 months had a wonderful stay.”

• The possum begging food on the terrace.
• Front desk and telephone people didn't speak English well.

“I was very disappointed in the quality of the initial room. It was not well prepared (I have animal allergies and it had been used by an animal). The hotel did give me a different room immediately when I complained. It also was small, used hard, and located on the back side of the hotel.”

• Location was terrific. So was the view. We were right across the creek from the plaza. The beds were excellent.
• Some of the furniture looked a little worn, and it looked like some things could be updated.

“We loved the location of this hotel--also the view. It was terrific. The beds were great. While it seemed to be an older property, it was nice nonetheless. In our opinion, it was a good buy. We would stay there again.”

• Housekeeping slow, mirror light burned out, outside area needs repair.

• Clanging plumbing pipes in the walls.

“Beautiful hotel in excellent location. They were working on the plumbing (I called front desk to ask about tapping noise in wall) so heard plumbing knocking noises off and on through the night - affected my sleep. However, I think this was an exception and I would definitely stay here again.”

• The lobby area is beautiful and location is great.
• The bathrooms should be updated.

“The hotel is a wonderful hotel. However the rooms could stand to be updated, especially the bathrooms. There was a big rust stain in my sink and the handle on the sink was about to come off.”

• I really enjoyed the concierge lounge and the view from the lounge.
• Parking cost.

• We were catered to as soon as we pulled into the driveway and throughout the entire stay. The pillow top beds and down comforters were wonderful!
• The fresh fruit at breakfast was not rinsed off. (strawberries, grapes, etc.) A little dirty, gritty.

“Excellent, beautiful place. We were only there for 9 hours to sleep, but wished we could have stayed longer. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Valet parking and luggage to the room was a great help to a couple of very tired travelers.”

• they charged me $15.44, which I have no idea why. Our bed was squeaky.

• The room looked very nice, beautiful lobby.
• Pool closing time-6pm.

“The bar/lounge had a very good group of musicians playing for us to enjoy. The room looked fairly clean and the bed was comfortable. Our disappointments included the pool closing at 6pm (reopening at 9am the next morning), a rude staff member, and a creaky/squeaky bed.”

“The hotel was a great location for Country Club Plaza, rooms were clean and nicer than expected. The room has a balcony which was a nice feature. The rooms were not overly large, but we were fine with that aspect. The valet parking personnel and all other service personnel were extremely courteous. The dining room had wonderful food and excellent service. Definitely will be an option another time.”
