  • Clean, renovated with quality, good location, cook-to-order breakfast.
  • Temperamental elevators, no towel bars in the bathroom. It could be better.

“Renovated but issues remain, notably elevators that routinely fail, stranding guests throughout the hotel. Stayed there 7 days so I got a good feel for the hotel operation. Staff was friendly, although at times they seemed somewhat inapt. I could not get a flickering light fixed. I reported it 5 days in a row to no avail. There are only two elevators located in the center and the stairs are at opposite ends of the bldg. We checked-in at the exact time that one of the elevators malfunctioned (lucky us). It ended up trapping the occupants for over 40 minutes who had to be helped out of the elevator which was stuck between floors. Both elevators are on the same circuit, so it meant they had to take both out to restore service. I lugged bags up five floors to our room. The elevator failed two days later and this time I was on it. We were stuck for 20 minutes while they sorted things out. This seemed to happen every several days (not very encouraging). The room was nice but there were several irritating things like no towel bars of any kind in the bathroom (how could you forget that item?) and the midget refrigerator had no temperature setting and kept items cool but not cold. The made-to-order breakfast was pretty good but you had to get there early because the line got long and the wait times with it. Very noisy at night in the living room area of the suite due to the fact that the bar was in the center of the atrium and voices would echo loudly throughout the atrium. This went on until the bar closed. Overall the hotel was okay but I don't think that I would go back, they even charged for WIFI. I refuse to pay for WIFI, so I located a free WIFI signal from Famous Johnnie's nearby. The speed was terrible but hey it was free. Next time I will stay at Drury Inn and save some bucks.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[7] • Location:[10]

  • Free breakfast, comfortable bed.
  • Broken elevator/slow elevators.

“The hotel was comfortable, although only having one working elevator was a significant inconvenience. The food was more than adequate, although the night staff was somewhat short and discourteous.”

  • Tremendous value for the price.
  • Smaller than usual common areas for Embassy Suite.

“Overall, the experience was very enjoyable and the staff helpful and friendly. The common areas and pool area were smaller than the typical Embassy Suite would offer but, all was newly refurbished and very nice.”

  • Separate bedroom.
  • Elevators/pool.

“The hotel only has 2 elevators that are very slow and got stuck numerous times. The pool is very small. If you call the front desk for something it takes them hours to get it to you.”

  • Loved the comfort of the bed. Great linens.
  • Nothing.

“Once I checked in, the front desk called shortly after to ensure the room was satisfactory. I thought that was great.”

  • Nothing.

“In short, we wanted to take the entire experience with us for the remainder of our trip. Tell Embassy to "package" this room and staff.”

  • We stayed on new years eve and it was very noisy.

“Great hotel for the price. Nice happy hour and good breakfast. The room's decor is a little dated, but it was very clean and nice.”

  • The location was great!
  • The room needed some minor cosmetic patching up.

“Overall, I was impressed. It was the first Embassy ever built, and it's beginning to show it's age. The staff was very friendly, the complementary breakfast was a nice touch, and the location was terrific.”

  • Breakfast buffet made it worth the price.
  • The rooms had mirrors on the walls. To much like Vegas.

“Convenient to I 435 and major shopping areas in Overland Park. Everything you expect from an Embassy Suites hotel.”
