• VERY friendly staff-great location-great breakfast.
• Sandy pool, but thats expected on the beach.

“Really like the staff, great service, we will return to this hotel! we also got a great price through Priceline!”

• Ice machine didn't work.

“The hotel was not bad for the money. It was nothing fancy, but everything was nice and clean. Staff was extremely kind and helpful. Would stay at again.”

“Our room had black mold in the bathroom. My wife is taking chemo for cancer, I did not think that was safe for her so I put her in the second room.”

• Staff was very friendly-especially manager.

“Hotel was clean on appearance, smelled musty, staff was friendly but this was no more than a hotel 6 in my books, not much other than a clean bed.”

• The front desk area was more nice and clean also the dining area.
• We did not like the dust on the TV and tables also behind the end table by the beds and the molded dirty shower curtain no water adjustment.

“The hotel is ok, just old looking and our room needed to be cleaned more such as dusted behind the end tables by the bed an on top of the TV and the shower curtain was dirty and molded plus the faucet in the tub was to hard to adjust the hot and cold water. TV did not show a good picture.”

• Location.
• A large group took up a lot of parking spaces and were partying. Management did nothing after we complained.

“Great location. Nothing fancy, but if you get a Gulf view, it is nice.”

• I did not like anything about this hotel.
• It felt like a cheap motel that was paid for by the hour.

“Hotel was disgusting. Although I was only staying in Galveston for night, I refused to treat myself and my fianc so badly. The staff was ok and helpful but the hotel was horrible. From the moment we drove from the lobby to our room, we were dumbfounded. The place looked so trashy. Our room smelled moldy, the bathrooms were somewhat clean I was scared to look at the towels. We try to use the wireless but it wasn't working. We called the lobby but the static on the phone wouldn't let us through. I couldn't take it anymore so we left within 30 minutes of our arrival. They were nice enough not to charge us so kudos to them for that. We drove to San Luis Resort. Got a nice room for a decent price with a beautiful view. I recommend that to anyone, anyway. Nothing beats comfort and cleanliness.”

• Water front across the street.
• Black mildew on shower walls and bathroom floor, wallpaper falling off wall.

“The bathroom including the floor and the tub was covered in black mildew, the tiles on the floor was just laying there rocking when you walked across them. Wallpaper falling off the wall. Had an iron but no ironing board had to use the table to iron the clothes. The location was the only good thing about the place, right across the street from the water front.”

• The location was convenient to the reason for our visit.
• The bathroom is cramped, the room is either very cold or too warm.

“The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is close to island attractions. The breakfast was great - the kids enjoyed making waffles. The room is really just a place to sleep.”

• The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful.
• The toilet did not work properly and the elevator was dirty.

“Overall the experience was a terrific one. We enjoyed the beach and the location was good. The hotel staff was excellent, despite the toilet not operating properly the fridge didn't work, but we brought a cooler and made do. I cannot say enough about how great the staff was.”

• Beautiful view of Galveston Beach.
• Didn't feel like it was very safe or comfortable.

“I enjoyed the stay, because of the beautiful view and convenience to attractions. However, I didn't feel too safe at night and I felt they were in desperate need for an upgrade of mattresses.”

• Very nice and clean, beds are much better than most.

“We were very surprised by this hotel. We had stayed at a Howard Johnson the night before in another town and this hotel was much better! Room was very clean and updated. They had a coffee maker and iron and board in our room. And as a nice plus, they give you the larger sized bath soap which is always a nice extra. We enjoyed our stay.”

  free breakfast.

“Old but clean and with a very pleasant staff. The free breakfast bar was more than expected. Nice television reception with the basic channels. The surrounding neighborhood appeared safe.”

• Free parking for Cruise guests.
• Hotel backs up to some shady neighborhoods. The beds were hard as rocks.

“The hotel was just o.k. We got stuck in a room with 2 full beds that were hard as rocks. We asked to change to a king room and they said that it would cost extra. It did have a good view of the Seawall. And it had free parking for cruise guests.”

• Lack of towels, unfriendly staff, security problems

“Upon arrival we were in line behind two people who were asking to have their rooms changed as they were dirty. There was also a person reporting the theft of a wallet from their room. If we had not prepaid for the room we would have gone elsewhere. The rooms had noisy ac, there was only one towel and when we asked for another they made us feel like we were making a large request. I would never stay here again.”

• I liked the fact that it was so close to the water.
• I wish that I had a chose of views. I would have chosen one looking out to the ocean.

“The staff seemed nice enough but no one went out of there way to help. We had lots of heavy baggage and we had to go up three flights. A little help would have been nice. There also seemed to be a little bit of mold in the room. I'm sure it's due to being so close to the water. ”
