“Hawthorne Suites is a great place for families to stay. The rooms are small, but functional and quite adequate for what we needed. The kids were happy and loved the bunk beds. My oldest (seven) adored the pool and couldn't have been more thrilled with it. The drawbacks were not having our room cleaned at all during our stay and having to argue with maintenance for fresh towels. Other than that, it was exactly as we expected. Very fair for the price and a good place to stay with young children.”

“The room was not as clean as I expected a hotel room to be. We did enjoy the heated pool as the weather was bad our first day there. I wouldn't book this hotel again but would recommend it to a group of young adults on vacation.”

“The room was a decent size for 2 adults and 4 kids, ages 1-9. However, the beds were uncomfortable. It was nice to have a door to a bedroom we could close so the older kids didn't have to go to sleep when the baby did. The hallways were extremely noisy due to the iron door you walk through to get to the actual door for every room. Everyone coming and going made a loud clanging noise all hours of the day and night. The free breakfast was only from 7-9 am, try getting 6 people out the door to eat before 9 am. The kids liked the pool because most of it wasn't too deep for them.”

“This hotel was a calm hotel except for a few things some crazy teens raped my room in toilet paper and overflowed the fountain with soap and left an icky mess and when it rains the floors get so slick that u slip really easily. Theres lots of noise at night because kids were screaming of the balconies for about a week and it was hard 2 sleeps. Over all hotel was ok the pools were and great the view of the ocean, depending on what room you get! Its ok for a little vacation and 4 a little stay.”

“Location was good, but front desk person on night shift was rude and unprofessional. There was no linen on the couch bed and when we ask for some we were told housekeeper was closed. They had bugs.”

“We enjoyed the hotel and the kid pool. The room was nice even though it was little outdated in products. They did work well though. The room could have been a little cleaner in some areas. The ac unit never really cooled down the room. It went out the second night and it reached 80 with all us in there. We got a $20 off the final bill. The breakfast was ok. The big bowls of ketchup and jelly did not look very good or food safe. We loved the kid pool and went several times. The main reason for the hotel itself. Did not have an area to clean off the beach sand. The employee we asked did not know.”

“In short, the hotel is great for a family, the rooms, however, vary in quality of furnishings. The first room we went to had some skanky carpet, and the front door didn't even shut good. We moved. Also, they should nix the hot breakfast, as this was not done with quality. Too many guests to fit into the small accommodations. With a condo-type environment where everyone can cook in their room, it's not necessary. We would go again, but we'll eat more in our room. ”

“I stayed at this hotel a few years back and did not remember it as family oriented. It now offers a full hot breakfast each morning which is terrific for those who get up and want to get on with their day.”

“This hotel served our needs well. The kids enjoyed the bunk beds. I did find disappointing the kitchen. It was not very well equipped for cooking a meal. There is no oven. There was a small refrigerator, only a two burner cook top (which could not get hot enough to boil water), & a dishwasher. The condo is not spacious by any means, but did serve our needs. The grounds were very well kept. The pools were very nice. We tended to spend time at the pools as opposed to the smelly beach across the street. We found that if we went east to the Flagship hotel or Stewart Beach that the beaches had less seaweed and did not smell as bad.”

“Very nice facility for the price. It's great to be across from the Gulf. It's a bonus that the Wal-Mart is next door for anything that you forgot.”

“I traveled with a party of 7. 5 kids 2 adults. The room slept 7 but was very small and they made bunk beds out of a an area for a closet so they did not sleep older kids. The hotel smelled and the breakfast area smelled even worse. The "hot breakfast" is really just eggs, very greasy bacon, frozen pancakes (warmed up) and cereal. The kids didn't even enjoy it and they are usually easy to please. The pool however, was a hit. I probably will not stay there again.”
