• Everything was out of order.

“Terrible hotel. No wireless internet, bad continental breakfast. Overall experience was terrible. Staff was not friendly. Did nothing to fix anything, Vending was not working, just overall bad experience. I will never stay again.”

• Mold on wall and aggressive staff.

“When my elderly mother complained about the large area of mold on the wall, the staff reacted by talking down to her, arguing in a hostile manner. The manager followed her to the van as she argued and blocked us from closing the door with her arm and wouldn't let us leave. I told her to leave my mother alone or I was going to leave with her arm in the door.”

• Staff was very helpful, good location and nice pool.
• Had trouble with internet.

“The hotel was in a very good location with many restaurants around the area. The price was reasonable and the rooms were very clean. I would recommend this hotel to friends & family.”

• Price! Staff! Room smelled musty! Beds were uncomfortable.

• The staff went out of their way to be helpful.
• Needed an iron and ironing board!

“I had stayed here years ago when it was owned by another chain. I was very pleasantly surprised by the remodeling that had taken place. I always feel very safe here. The room exceeded my expectations!”

• Location - on the beach. Clean room. Nice environment.
• The sign at breakfast said that you were not allowed to take food from the area.

“Front desk was very uncooperative in working with me to change to a room with 2 full beds or to provide a rollaway. (They said that they were out). I hate unfriendly people, but I hate liars more.”

• Location to Sea Wall and Moody Gardens was very close.
• The spa did not work and the TV was old, but it did work.

“My friend and I stayed here a short night as we had to be up at 5am for the Lone Star Triathlon. It was walking distance from the beach, maybe a couple blocks from the seawall. I was upset to see that the spa/hot tub was closed as I needed to use it to loosen up. If you have ever stayed at the Sea Horse Inn back in the old days this sure beats that by a mile. No roaches, doors lock, and it was surprisingly quite on Friday night.”

• Pool too small, spa broken.

“Spacious room for the price. Excellent base of operations for exploring the local area. Very friendly and helpful staff, but not much on-site amenities.”

• The rooms were wonderful and spacious.
• The parking was awful and limited.

“The outside of the hotel was not so spectacular; however, the rooms were great. We had a room with a king-sized bed. The room had a sitting area with a love seat, coffee table and desk. The bathroom was very clean and the sink/vanity was very nice. There was brand new granite counter tops and granite walls in the bathroom. New tile was in the bathroom and at the door. The decor was contemporary. The breakfast could have been a little better but is was ok. There were muffins, toast, bagels, ceral and fixings. Overall it was a great experience.”

• It was close to the beach.
• Finding a dirty syringe in the vanity area of my room, no apologies were made.

“This was a dirty hotel; the staff was not very attentive or friendly. The location was not easy to access from the main road.”

• It was close to Beach, and not to far from the strand, for Mardi Gras parades.
• Only 1 ice machine, it was on the other side of building down stairs.

• This was a fantastic find for the money.
• I did not like the smoke smell in the non smoking room that we stayed in, but other than that, it was great!

“If you are allergic to smoke, or can't stand any smell of smoke, this is not the hotel for you. It is a great hotel, friendly service, and very clean! I would recommend this to anyone staying in Galveston on a budget. You can't beat how big the rooms are and it's newly updated!”

• Great location, clean, helpful staff.
• Hard small beds, lighting was a bit dark.

“Much better than I expected at this price. Very clean, great location just off Seawall. Would stay here again. Even my teenage girls, who are very critical at hotels, were happy with this hotel. Waffle House next door is inexpensive and a great alternative to cold breakfast offered at hotel, although the offerings were plentiful.”

• The rooms where clean and the room was cool so the guest could go into the room and be comfortable.
• There wasn't anything we didn't like about the room.
