• The one positive note is the staff was extremely helpful and friendly.
• I and my senior sister were disappointed in there not being a handicap room available. Bath tubs were way too high and the desk chair fell backwards.

“I was impressed by the compassion and helpfulness of the staff. The continental breakfast was an unexpected, but healthful treat. The rooms decor was not soothing. My nine year old grandson did enjoy the swimming pool and the waffles for breakfast. I did have to purchase a room freshener as it smelled stale. Overall, it was pleasant as I could correct the problems and for the money would stay there again. Hoping of course that management reads these and incorporates the feedback for a more pleasant experience.”

• The complementary breakfast was the only good thing about this hotel.
• There were hairs in our sheets! That is completely disgusting!

“Hotel was a bit further in to Texas City than we thought. The staff was rude upon arrival and not helpful whatsoever! When we got into our room, it was dirty & there was hairs in our sheets! How revolting! The shower is elevated, so don't take your Grandmother there, I almost fell. The only good thing I could say is that the complementary breakfast was good. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, ever!”

• It was conveniently located to space center Houston, Galveston and Kemah boardwalk.
• The room was not very clean.

“We liked the location but we had to switch rooms because the tub was broken in the first room. The tub was cracked and as a result it smelt like raw sewage. The continental breakfast was also disgusting. Everything was packaged including the waffles.”

• Friendly front desk staff.
• Room - broken tables, dead flies on walls, rude housekeepers.

“The hotel was easy to locate and the front desk staff was really nice. The rooms were small but worth the price. I just didn't like all the dead flies smeared on the walls and how housekeeping was rude when you asked for extra towels.”

  did not like that the entrance to the rooms were on the outside of the building.

“I do not particularly care to have my room entrance on the outside. We saw a couple of roaches and ants in our room and the tub had a big burn on it and were a large step up/down from the bathroom floor.”

• Greeted great, room had everything a person would need late night check in.
• Safety for my car in parking lot; late night prowlers.

• Would have liked a room on first floor, but had to stay on second floor.

• It was in TX city where I needed to be.
• Old and decrepit.

“Needs renovation. Staff wonderful. Rooms scrubbed clean and everybody friendly but the place was old and a little scary. The rooms reeked of air freshener and chemicals. Yuck.”

• The location was perfect for our needs.
• The facility was run down, it's in need of some repairs.

“This La Quinta is situated in an accessible area to major roadways, restaurants, and grocery stores. The lobby is very nice compared to the appearance of the rest of the property. The hotel is in dire need of a cosmetic overhaul. The rooms are neat and appear to be clean. The water temperature in the shower goes from one extreme to another, burning at times. The hotel tends to attract the locals that hang out behind the Denny's situated in the hotel parking lot. Since it is built in the old motel style with the rooms open to the parking lot, I would not recommend women stay by themselves.”

• They say this location is scheduled for renovation and it shows it inside and outside.

“Pavement is in poor shape outside the rooms. Denny's restaurant is very dirty and needs upgrading. Boards are rotting on banisters, mattresses are soft, carpet was clean, metal doors were in poor repair, staff was very nice, breakfast room was very nice.”

• The location was great. Great continental breakfast. Free wireless internet connection.
• The TV remote control did not work and the night clerk was too busy to replace it.

“The inoperative TV remote control was a downer. The continental breakfast was great with such a wide selection and all food was fresh. Location is fantastic for what I needed.”

“coffee and juice in the lobby had been shut down by the health dept. apparently noting being done about it, same way for two weeks. Denney's restaurant in the parking lot was badly in need of a cleaning, overall place needed a face lift and rooms needed painting.”

• Front desk lady that helped us was very helpful and friendly. Hotel lobby was nice.
• Ugly stains by bed, someone got sick first room smelled like urine. Killed ants half night by nightstand, in restroom.

“We have stayed at many hotels. Years ago La Quanta was nice. It has not changed and I mean literally. Probably same outdated and old bedspreads, furniture. Needed to stay here due to proximity, availability and only one night stay. Bathtub not one I wanted to get into and same with the beds. We had my parents, had two rooms and had to change rooms because it smelled so bad! Will not stay again...get what you pay for even though it's not like it was that inexpensive for location and time of year.”

• Got a good price, was next door to Denny's and had laundry facilities.
• Facilities, like border fence, fascia, etc. was broken, split, etc--a little run down.

“An affordable place to stay within easy driving distance of Galveston Island. Rooms inside were clean enough and staff was helpful. Starting, however, to show its age.”
