• Very friendly staff!
• Housekeepin was not very fast when we asked for extra pillow and blanket waited over 30 min.

“Great place to stay in Downtown houston. Different than most chain hotels. Rooms and bathrooms are amazing!”

“Beautiful historic restored hotel with a European flair. The only negative would be the high parking fee and limited street parking.”

• The bed was incredibly comfortable and the shower was outstanding.
• Valet took a while as well as getting drinks from the bartender.

“Overall great place to stay. It is very elegant and stylish and while you shouldn't take your kids there it's a great place to take the spouse. You will love the bathrooms in this place, it's about the size of most rooms in other hotels.”

• Gorgeous decor, very comfortable bed and huge shower.

“Gorgeous, stylish hotel and historic building. Extremely well-appointed room and very helpful staff. Mandatory valet parking expensive, but you only pay once at the end of your stay and it is very convenient.”

• The bathtub, a filled ice bucket at night, walking distance to clubs.
• The room key did not operate the elevator the way it was supposed to.

• This hotel was unique, impressive and romantic.
• Parking too much and the beds were not comfortable.

“My husband and I were traveling with our 7 and 4 year old to visit downtown Houston during the week. As soon as we entered the hotel we were in awe. We knew immediately we were staying in a 4 star hotel. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Our room looked like it was straight out of a magazine, very spacious, romantic, plenty of storage space, clean and very European. The bathroom was great, huge soaking tub, large walk in shower and lots of vanity space. The kids found the bathroom quite entertaining with the large mirror. Valet parking costs $26. I would definitely stay here again!”

• The promptness and friendliness of the hotel. The Romance Package was excellent and well worth the extra money.
• The bedding wasn't as plush as expected, could of used more pillows. Room a bit smaller than expected.

“From the moment we pulled into the parking garage and walked into the lobby, everything was gorgeous. The staff was hospitable and great in customer service. The bathroom with the huge glass door showers and large jucuzzi tub were the best I've seen in a hotel. The hotel breakfast was excellent,a bit pricey, but right for the type of hotel that Hotel Icon is.”

• The hotel is beautiful and the staff was very friendly!
• There's not a swimming pool!

• Huge bathrooms, great location, great staff, excellent gym.
• Smaller lobby area, not much going on.

“The staff at the hotel was great, we had the two double beds as requested. Our room was spacious, especially the bathroom. The interior design of the hotel was also very nice. The location was also good, near the Ballpark and many nearby bars and restaurants. I almost forgot too, this was by far, one of the best hotel gyms I have ever used. It had great machines, a ton of free weights and equipment, I was thoroughly impressed. It far exceeded my expectations.”

• The decor was great, and the bathroom was huge!
• Parking was very pricey!

“The room was great, nice bedding and the bathroom was fantastic. Everything was great, but they did seem to be slightly understaffed at the front desk. We has to wait in line for about 15 minutes to check in. The accommodations were worth the wait, however. We really liked the candy buffet set up in the lobby. We helped our selves a couple of times! Great location in the heart of nightlife and restaurants.”

• $25 valet parking and lack of other parking options.

“Overall, a really nice hotel. Better for couples, less for families. Great design, style and huge bathrooms (my son's favorite).”

• Convenient Downtown location.
• Very small room. No bath tub.

“No bathtub for available for bath/spa experience. Other rooms in hotel were larger with up to king size beds not available despite requesting prior to arrival.”

• Rooms are large, clean and well designed.
• Not impressed with the location - safety is questionable, few quality restaurants.

“Great hotel in a poor location. Was hoping for more with Downtown Houston, but it has a long way to go to match the revitalized downtowns of other major cities. Overnight parking is impossible without using a $25 valet service. Parking is free on the streets after 6 p.m., but you have to move your car by 7 a.m. Rooms are fantastic, bar/lounge is well designed and enjoyable. Downtown needs to catch up to this hotel, but there sure are a lot of vacant store fronts and former restaurants - depressing.”

“I was quite shocked to find this room with a full size bed instead of a king or at least queen. Although the view from our room wasn't much, the comfort and decor were great.”

• I liked the quaint atmosphere and the excellent service. Being an old bank gave neat ambiance.
• Rooms were a bit dark.

“Hotel Icon is in an old bank building, complete with original vault behind front desk. It has very relaxing lobby which is great for business meetings or socializing with friends. Nice location right off of Main street. Complimentary car service any where in downtown area was added bonus.”
