“The Crown Plaza Houston River Oaks was a decent hotel price-wise. You are basically paying the price you are for the convenience of being in Downtown Houston.”

“Over all the hotel was satisfactory. The temp of the room was hot and you could not turn down the thermostat. The parking in the garage was not good because of the having to pay and the hotel stating it was not responsible for any damage or loss of your vehicle.”

“Hotel was clean and staff was very helpful. Cleaning staff however did not change linens on beds when asked. Just made bed with dirty linens.”

“We had ask for a non-smoking room and we got a smoking floor (there was a sign that said it was a smoking floor). Our room was next to the electrical room, right next to the elevators that made so much noise, it was difficult to fall asleep. The hot water in the bathroom was brown and one of the towels had a brown ugly spot on it. When we let the front desk know about the brown water and the noise from the elevators, the man at the front desk said that this was the first time he had heard that the water was coming brown and didn't know why and that the elevators did not make any noise. And about the smoking room, he said it was not a smoking floor, even though there was a sign saying that it was a smoking floor. The elevator in the parking garage was very hot.”

“The hotel was centrally located to shopping areas and restraunts. The room was spacious and very well done. The bed was very comfortable. Only 2 downsides, the parking is pay only and a couple times the water pressure dropped to nothing during my morning showers.”

“Way better than I expected. It is right by the express way, but you won't hear the traffic at all once you're in the room. Clean, nice, and friendly staff. Parking is an extra charge, but I'm okay with it considering the overall price.”

“This used to be a Holiday Inn and has recently been converted to a Crowne Plaza. They claim to have remodeled every room. Our room seemed dirty and out dated. The AC did not work properly and made a loud noise all night. The TV in our room had a bad picture and was very old.”

“Everything was great, but people you have to pay to park there. Also, the pool has been closed for repairs.”

“Excellent hotel convenient to downtown, the medical center and the Galleria areas. Spacious, well maintained rooms. The pool was closed for repairs. Only negative is the additional parking expenses not covered in the cost of the room.”

“The hotel is nice although under construction. I have stayed here many times. The parking garage is old and very tight. Plus they charge $8 for parking. I have never understood why a hotel would charge for parking versus simply increasing the rate each night. And the garage is in terrible condition.”

“The room I had was noisy and the pipes were showing in the bathroom. It was on the 4th floor. The staff was considerate and changed my room
on the 6th floor, which was much better. The garage elevator was broken during my stay.”

“Our toilet was not clean and it was stopped up. The valet gave us a time with getting our vehicles.”

“The bed was comfortable. The room looked nice, but a little small. There weren't many appealing restaurants within walking distance.”

“Definitely a "no frills" place - construction throughout, so it may be better once they are done. Lobby/halls/etc. outdated. Not the luxury we were hoping for - pretty basic. Paying for parking in that area of town was frustrating (not necessary), especially as the Sheraton one block away was no pay to park.”
