“Nice attractive hotel of the luxury style. Clean. The linens are important to me and I found the sheets acceptable but the comforters were arctic level heaviness. I would have loved a tropical weight down comforter in a high thread count duvet.”

“Overall, I did not feel that this hotel should be 4 stars. The bed was not so comfortable. The swimming pool was too small. It cost 16 dollars per day to park. I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience.”

“This hotel was ok but it did not meet the 4 star quality. Rooms are extra small! The bath tub was extra small! Parking was $16 a day. Internet was $10.95 a day and was not worth it. I needed a refrigerator for my medication but they had a minibar and it cost me $30 to get the minibar deactivated and the items removed to be able to use the refrigerator. Television was broken. Was not at all what I expected in the Galleria area.”

“The guest room was great and so comfortable and quiet. The team is rude. The business center says open 24 hrs but your guest key will not access it you have to call security to let you in! It took a long time to get in too after 7 pm. Would not go back, people make the stay.”

“Staff is excellent, from the valet through front desk and concierge. Housekeeping response was fast and courteous. Did not have an opportunity to try the restaurant, but the bar is fairly well stocked and the bar staff is excellent as well. This is the third Intercontinental Hotel I've been to and all three have been excellent. Location is a block from the Galleria right off I-610, so you're close to everything. I will stay here again.”

“Great place to stay, although the rooms are a little small. Parking, $16 a day is a bit pricy.”

“We arrived about 11 pm and was met at the registration desk by a smiling, cheerful gentleman. I was given a high floor and my room was on the 19th floor of the 22 storey hotel. The pool & patio was on an enclosed 5th floor, very private. We enjoyed a nice view of the city from our room. Great customer service. Also my room had a well stocked snack and drink bar (kids enjoyed). The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Would enjoy returning to this hotel.”

“I was not satisfied with my room to the fullest extent. I was expecting a bigger bathroom and more space to move around the room in. It was very congested and very dangerous.”

“The room we received was not up to date and the room next to had problems with its door so hotel staff was working on that room.”

“Nice hotel if you don't mind paying for extras that other hotels give you for free. I would rather stay at a Courtyard or Hampton Inn or something that does not charge you to park, has free Wi-Fi (in the rooms) and a simple free breakfast to start the day.”

“I was in Houston to take the state bar exam, so I thought this was a nice hotel for some peace and quiet so I would be rested and ready to go for the three day exam. Starting positive: The lobby, conference rooms and common areas are well appointed--they must have spent a fortune in all of the marble. So the stay starts off well, but when we get to our room, to my surprise, it adjoins another room; apparently, most of the rooms at this hotel are adjoining. It means that you can hear the person in the next room talk/watch TV/whisper sweet nothings to their partner. Room #1 we asked to be moved because the adjoining room was party city; Room #2 was the handicapped room (I'm not handicapped) and it smelled terrible; Room #3 was fine until night #3 when it was again, party city in the adjoining room. I sat up and just listened for a couple of hours, since I didn't feel like moving again. Parking is $16/night, so factor that expense in as well. Room service was horrific. We ordered the intercontinental breakfast: Danishes, eggs, bacon, coffee, and OJ for two. The next morning attempt #1: Danishes, coffee, OJ for 1. Attempt #2: brought us some cold eggs. Attempt #3: another OJ and bacon. By now it is time to go; we spent a ton on a breakfast that we couldn't even enjoy thanks to unmitigated incompetence. The next evening we asked for the staff to bring up two wine glasses and a corkscrew. After 45 minutes of waiting, I called to check on it, and was curtly told that they were busy and I should just wait longer. Thanks, that helps. Half an hour later, I finally went down to the bar and had them give me the glasses and open my bottle of wine. The restaurant service was likewise a joke. An anecdote: at breakfast the next day, the guy next to me just wanted oatmeal, but the waitress merely pointed to the buffet, he then repeated that he just wanted oatmeal, she said ok.”

“One evening one of us gave their computer bag to the bellman to put in the room. It never made it. The hotel confirmed they have video of the bellman entering the elevator with the items, but not leaving. The hotel manager did not meet with us despite numerous requests over the next couple of days, and they have discouraged us from contacting the police as they wanted to take care of it by their insurance but so far they have not.”

“This hotel was very nice. Breakfast, and making a few copies. I think internet access is more important than cable TV, and I can not believe that some hotels continue to charge for this service.”

“The hotel is in a great location, our room and all the other facilities were up to date and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. We did think the bed was too hard and woke up with a little back pain, but it's because we are use to a very soft mattress. Overall this was a very nice hotel and worth every penny.”
