• Great location and reasonable price.
• The alarm clock had a thick layer of lint.

“Certainly adequate and I would use it again. For my business purpose on this trip, it was an excellent choice.”

• Location.
• Restaurant is a cheap cafeteria. Personal security is a hazard.

“Personal security is a strong risk at this hotel. The elevators provide anyone in the adjacent shopping mall with total access to any area of the hotel. A key card is not required for the elevators to travel to any floor. There is no security whatsoever. This is a very old hotel totally outdated. Decoration is non-existent, almost like a Motel 6. Sports room is in another Westin hotel that you have to walk to. I rate this hotel 3-star at best, not 4-stars as advertised.”

• Location.

“We had a problem with a backup in the tub. The staff gave us a key to another room to use the shower and it worked out fine. They were very quick in helping us. Would stay there again.”

• The staff was excellent.
• There was no wireless internet.

“The hotel was comfortable and clean, and the staff was very helpful and professional. There was no wireless internet, and the ethernet cable that was provided didn't work. So, for my business stay, it was certainly not very work friendly.”

“My room also had a leak in the air conditioner and it literally sounded like it was raining inside my room. They sent an engineer right away to fix it but I lost a good hour of sleep. I will not be staying at this hotel again by choice.”

• Free parking, great location, comfortable pillows.
• Cleanliness mediocre, no free Wi-Fi, no workout facility, hotel needs renovation.

“ This hotel is in a great location, with access to the galleria from the third floor and close proximity to shopping, dining, and business centers. The hotel itself though is in need of renovation in order to be considered a top tier hotel. In its current state, it is no nicer than an aging Holiday Inn. Everything about this hotel screams mediocrity. High points were the location, comfortable pillows and flat screen television. Low points were the cleanliness, up-charge for internet access, minimal channel selection for the nice TV, no gym on site (they do allow access to the small work-out facility at the other Westin across the mall). ”

• Great location, found free parking spots easily.
• Room did not have a closet, so we had to hang our clothes in the bathroom.

“Definitely great location. They charge for VP, however, it was fairly easy to find free parking spots very, very close to the hotel.”

• Great location to galleria and other fine restaurants.
• Poor condition of hotel in general.

“This was a great hotel. The business center was very poor and the concierge was not helpful at all. Overall condition of the hotel was that it is old and rooms need uplift.”

• The location at the Galleria was excellent, very close to a variety of shops and restaurants.
• The hotel was outdated and everything felt very well used, needs updating.

“The Westin Oaks has a great location, and the staff was excellent. It might have met the criteria 10 years ago, maybe even 5 years ago, but it is in dire need of an updating. The furniture in the rooms had the finish worn off on the edges from use, and the furnishings in the lobby looked like something that you would put in your basement room. The real surprise for me was the lack of wireless high speed internet throughout the hotel; it was only available in the lobby. The in room internet service was available through a wired outlet, but there was an extra $9.95/day charge for this, which surprised me. Most hotels where I have stayed include free high speed internet service.”

• Traffic and traffic noise.

“The hotel is showing it's age and looks like it could use a refresh. The guest room was clean and the bedding was great, consistent with other Westin properties.”

• Heavenly bed only.
• No air condition on hot August night/old/not updated.

“Years ago this hotel was top notch. Now days it is not updated. It was our anniversary and we were staying only one night. We got into the hotel around 10 PM after a romantic dinner, room was hot and just assumed we could turn air down and it would cool off. Air sounded like it was on but the whole night we had no air condition, the whole floor did not have air. We were in the Crown Suite for our anniversary and it was the worst experience ever! Asked for a fan, hotel did not have one. Took cold showers just to keep cool throughout the night. Left that next morning, hotel offered a free breakfast and we said absolutely not. Hotel offered some points with Starwood we took that but it does not even cover half a night free.”

• Very shabby, dingy, musty smelling lobby tired looking.

“Disappointing. I always thought of Westin hotels as high end, but this was either a very poor example or they've gone downhill.”

• Great location at the Galleria Mall. Wonderful bed.
• Outdated. Limited free parking space.

“Expected 4 stars and found 3 stars at best. Limited free parking and expensive ticketed parking. Carpets/rooms are old and outdated. Pool was not attractive at all. Rooms were clean and quiet, bed and pillows were amazing. Location is the best for leisure and shopping since it's located at the Galleria Mall.”

• Free parking at Galleria, nice beds - typical of Weston.
• No workout room on site - had to walk into mall not far but to another shared workout room with Weston Galleria - not enough equipment for two hotels.

“Great location. Nice to have shopping mall attached. No workout room is a miss on Weston's part and the small facility available is not big enough to service hotels of this size. Otherwise it was a good option.”
