  • Easy access via parking garage to rooms.
  • Under construction. Not hotel's fault.

“For the price, it was great. Convenient. Easy in and out which was what we were needing.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[9] • Location:[7]

  • Wonderful free buffet breakfast.
  • Neighborhood can be a little scary after dark.

“I have stayed at the West End for years when it was affiliated with Hampton/Hilton. We have a group and always prefer it to larger hotels because of price, excellent free and convenient breakfast. Fast elevators are a plus. Since it will be changing to a Crowne Point Hotel, the amenity return annually for will probably be discontinued for a restaurant like the others.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[9] • Location:[10]

  • Location. Walking distance to bars, restaurants, entertainment.
  • Pay parking.

“Hotel was clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy, but appropriate for the price. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Pool and pool area looked like it needed an upgrade, but we did not use it, so it wasn't important to us. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would come again or recommend it to friends.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[6] • Location:[8]

  • Close to The West End restaurants and American Airlines center.
  • Having to pay for parking, dark rooms and leaky air vents, small bathrooms.

“The hotel is within 3 blocks of the West End restaurants. I have no idea about the night life, but the hotel is within 3 or so miles from Uptown, a short cab ride. That would be one of my biggest complaints. The parking at the hotel I thought was free, since the night I drove my car from the hotel, I was told to use my room key to get out of the parking garage. That would be great, but the next day when I went to check out I ask how I was going to get out of the parking garage and to my amazement was told I had to pay $7.00. I wouldn't have turned my room key in if I had known that. This means you couldn't take many car trips out of the hotel with out breaking the budget. My next complaint is the darkness of the halls and my room. Plus in my room I had to keep ducking a dripping water leak over the very small sink area. The only place you can plug in a curling iron and have a mirror.”

Cleanliness:[3] • Staff:[10] • Location:[8]

  • Wireless Internet.
  • Pool not heated, Everything was old needs to be remodeled. Boring hotel.

“The hotel is in need of being remodeled. Our room just felt grungy. Pool was dirty, and somewhat hazardous due to the beer bottle caps lying across the bottom of the pool. The fitness room looked awful. Simply two different hotel rooms side by side with a couple of pieces of equipment. Hotel is in a good location as far as being close to the convention center and Bank of American tower. The complimentary breakfast was decent. The wireless internet was great, download speeds were better than most. Would not recommend this hotel, the next potential customer would be better off paying a few dollars more for a hotel in Downtown or saving some money staying 5 minutes away from Downtown Dallas.”

  • The breakfast hot bar and the social hour were wonderful.
  • The room was not cleaned in a timely maner.

“Wonderful hotel for site seeing in the Downtown Dallas area. It is a short walk to just about everything from JFK Memorial, Dealey Park, to House of Blues, Spaghetti Works, and Hooters. Great place for a short weekend in Dallas, TX.”

  • Excellent service, VERY FRIENDLY STAFF, clean and safe.
  • Can't think of anything.

“Very pleased with stay. It was close to everything. The staff was excellent. They were super friendly and helpful with anything we needed to know or had questions about regarding the city or hotel itself. It was a very pleasant stay at a great price. We will definitely stay there next time.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[9] • Location:[9]

  • Great location to Dealey Plaza and cozy clean room.
  • Dallas downtown nearby is dead at night. No restaurants nearby.

“This is a great hotel if you want to be near Dealey Plaza. The room was great and it is undergoing renovations as it is going to become a Crowne Plaza. The area is dead at night, it is quite a walk to any restaurants, and it is a deserted walk, but it would only be a small cab fare. Would recommend for either tourists or business travelers.”

Cleanliness:[6] • Staff:[10] • Location:[8]

  • The staff was really friendly and the hotel had lots of perks that made up for the lack of charm, such as free wifi, free hot breakfast, and free shuttle.
  • The room wasn't exactly spotless and the bathroom area was really small and awkward.

“I went to Dallas for a large conference and stayed here because it was much cheaper than other Downtown (some luxury) hotels. Yes there are people waiting for buses outside the hotel, but it is literally only a 10 minute walk from the so-called Luxury District. I really don't see a difference.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[10] • Location:[8]

  • Friendliness of staff and their willingness to accommodate requests.
  • Choice of food in the banquet breakfast.

“Overall, given the price of the hotel room, it was excellent value. As a female traveling alone on business, I felt very safe, partially due to the need to use a pass key to access one's floor. The room had a wireless connection for no extra charge and a spacious desk, fridge and microwave. The bathroom was spacious and very clean with an excess of towels. This hotel is an excellent choice, located within walking distance to the art museum. I would choose this hotel again when returning to Dallas.”

  • The room did not move. This meant a good night sleep.
  • The toilet leaked.

“The hotel is not in the best of neiborhoods. I was not afraid during the day. But at night I did not feel comfortable outside. The hotel met my needs for cleanliness and comfort.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Friendly atmosphere, convenient location. Just a great place to stay.
  • Not too much to say. You can't use the balcony due the Fire department removing access.

“The West End Hotel in Downtown Dallas is a nice little place to stay. The staff is very helpful and polite; the location is great - within walking distance of any mode of public transportation (taxi, bus, train) within blocks of the "West End" restaurant/bar area. Even the rooms are pretty nice with comfortable beds (the King sized bed is spacious!). Overall, this hotel was a great place to stay, and I would come back for a return visit the next time I'm in Dallas.”

“It is an older hotel, but it was very neat and clean. The room was larger than I expected. My only dissatisfaction was that I had to pay for parking at the hotel, but that is common in downtown Dallas.”

“A home away from home is how this Hampton made me feel. The staff was most friendly and the breakfast was great! A great hotel for a great price.”
