• Location was good.
• Dirty room, dirty furniture, dirty bathtub.

“Clearly a hotel in need of a renovation. Hair in bath floor, tub. Spare, older furnishings. Bugs in the bar area constantly flying in my food and face. Bad experience.”

• The staff, new room.
• Problems with first room but was moved to better rooms.

“This hotel is undergoing a complete renovation that will be completed in June of 2008. In its old state, The guest rooms are not four star. However, the newly remodeled rooms are truly four star.”

• Attractive common areas.
• Initially assigned a married couple to room with two double beds. But, moved to upper level king.

“Front desk staff somewhat slovenly, but when complained of room, immediately moved us to upper room with appropriate king. Sent bellman to move us and our bags.”

• The beds.
• The bath is old and not clean. tub was yucky Not 4star.

“I don't agree that this was a 4 star hotel. I have stayed at many and it did not hold up to the others. The decor and baths need to be updated.”

• Bathrooms could be a little nicer and the TV an LCD.

• Location and the staff.
• For a 4 star the rooms are outdated and old.

“I would really like it if the rooms were updated; they are old looking inside the electronics and color; it didnt feel like the star level that it was compared to the Westin we stayed at last time, it was 4 star inside and out.”

• The location was perfect for us. The beds were very comfortable.
• The floors and rooms looked as if they were due for a renovation.

• Very Good Location.
• The rooms were no better than an average motel. Needs renovation badly.

“The property is very nice on the outside and in the common areas. The rooms are average at best; the pool area needs renovation as much as the rooms. The location is great.”

• Basically nice, clean, and friendly. It had some upscale features but not a full four-star place.
• The lobby was small and uninviting. The place has the feel of a business hotel with most emphasis on getting to the rooms and little for families.

“Excellent hotel in almost every way. It has the feel of a good business hotel but isn't a place that naturally accommodates families. The small and minimal lobby isn't welcoming to small children, which we have.”

• Comfy beds, spacious rooms.
• Noise! woke up early each day due to noise in adjoin rooms. Also, we put in handicap access room with two double beds.

• Upscale yet affordable, convenient location.
• You can hear everything in neighboring rooms, which from an upscale hotel you would expect the walls to block out noise from next door.

• Clean, luxurious, friendly, professional and beautiful.
• Bathtub leaked water onto carpet.

“Luxurious and clean. Also there was plenty of vehicle parking, so I saved on valet and parking fees which is common with Hyatt hotels.”

• The staff was excellent and helpful.
• Room was old.

“Our room was old and the bathroom was small. Was advertised as separate shower and tub with robes, but that was not the case. The location was good and the staff was very helpful and friendly.”

• It was very nice for the price.
• The glass stairway was very dirty and noticeable from the restaurant.

“Rooms were very nice, good workout area. The only negative was the glass/brass staircase which was very dirty and the columns in the lobby area were dirty also. This was apparent from the restaurant and was not very appetizing while you were eating or having a drink in the bar.”

• Service staff was unfailingly upbeat despite the dismal surroundings.
• The rooms were encrusted with the residue of nearly 30 years of guests.

“The hotel is located a 10-minute cab or car ride from downtown on the freeway-very inconvenient if you are attending any event in downtown (and no easy access to public transport). Noise from the freeway pervades every room. Despite being listed as a four star facility, the decor and the upkeep of the rooms is seriously in need of improvement; I was told that the renovation begins in a month, but I suspect they've been saying that to guests since the early 1990s. In short, this is a hotel that has long since seen its heyday and is desperately trying to stay in business.”

• Convenient to Market Center.
• Casual dining room closed for dinner on Saturday night; formal dining closed for private party, only place to eat was bar and lucky to get seat.

“Very attractive lobby, a bit chilly. It was winter and the storm doors did not seem to keep out the draft. Dining can be limiting, as only one of the 3 dining facilities were open on the Saturday night I stayed. No outside dining options in immediate area, only with a cab ride into downtown areas. Very convenient to Market Center however, can walk if weather is nice. Rooms were pleasant with relatively comfortable beds. Could use a mirror over by desk near window. Only mirror was in bathing area. No fridge or mini bar in room.”

• The Lobby, the staff and the bed.
• Quality of some of the food from room service.

“The staff is what makes this hotel. They go the extra mile for the hotel guest. From the time you arrive in the beautiful lobby to checkout, the porters, room service staff, housekeeping all give you the feeling of being well cared for with all the comforts of home without the headaches of cooking and cleanup. This hotel still needs work with Room Service. The food at times was outstanding. At other times the food would be delivered cold. Some items on the menu were just not good. Its hard to imagine a kitchen that could deliver a steak that was to die for to grits that weren't grits at all.”
