“Clearly a hotel in need of a renovation. Hair in bath floor, tub. Spare, older furnishings. Bugs in the bar area constantly flying in my food and face. Bad experience.”

“This hotel is undergoing a complete renovation that will be completed in June of 2008. In its old state, The guest rooms are not four star. However, the newly remodeled rooms are truly four star.”

“Our room was old and the bathroom was small. Was advertised as separate shower and tub with robes, but that was not the case. The location was good and the staff was very helpful and friendly.”

“Rooms were very nice, good workout area. The only negative was the glass/brass staircase which was very dirty and the columns in the lobby area were dirty also. This was apparent from the restaurant and was not very appetizing while you were eating or having a drink in the bar.”

“The hotel is located a 10-minute cab or car ride from downtown on the freeway-very inconvenient if you are attending any event in downtown (and no easy access to public transport). Noise from the freeway pervades every room. Despite being listed as a four star facility, the decor and the upkeep of the rooms is seriously in need of improvement; I was told that the renovation begins in a month, but I suspect they've been saying that to guests since the early 1990s. In short, this is a hotel that has long since seen its heyday and is desperately trying to stay in business.”

“Very attractive lobby, a bit chilly. It was winter and the storm doors did not seem to keep out the draft. Dining can be limiting, as only one of the 3 dining facilities were open on the Saturday night I stayed. No outside dining options in immediate area, only with a cab ride into downtown areas. Very convenient to Market Center however, can walk if weather is nice. Rooms were pleasant with relatively comfortable beds. Could use a mirror over by desk near window. Only mirror was in bathing area. No fridge or mini bar in room.”

“The staff is what makes this hotel. They go the extra mile for the hotel guest. From the time you arrive in the beautiful lobby to checkout, the porters, room service staff, housekeeping all give you the feeling of being well cared for with all the comforts of home without the headaches of cooking and cleanup. This hotel still needs work with Room Service. The food at times was outstanding. At other times the food would be delivered cold. Some items on the menu were just not good. Its hard to imagine a kitchen that could deliver a steak that was to die for to grits that weren't grits at all.”
