“This hotel was not very representative of other Comfort Inn Suites that I have had the opportunity to be a guest. Check in time was suppose to be 3:00 PM, but our room was not ready when we arrived. Since it was not ready we left our phone number with the receptionist to call when ready and we never received a call. We waited for a call until about 7:30 PM, and then we called them. The shower water temp was lukewarm and the water collected in the tub. The tub drain functioned improperly too. The carpet in the elevator smelled of mildew, and the carpet in the halls were highly stained and smelled also. I was very disappointed with the facility and I will not recommend this hotel to anyone. We paid for the hotel both nights, but we did not stay in the hotel both nights. We moved from there to the Holiday Inn Express.”

“Overall the next room we got was good. The breakfast people very nice. They need more parking at night, every parking space was full.”

“We went the week after spring break. The hotel was helpful in recommending places to go and activities on the island. Great location and beach access. The beds were very comfortable and rooms were clean. The front desk personnel could be nicer but all the other personnel that we spoke to were nice. They also had a simple continental breakfast.”

“Access to the hotel is difficult and very easy to miss. You can only access the entrance going north, and if driving south, you have to drive through a stop light and turn back around. The staff was not friendly and very avoidant. The room was very dirty and looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the last guest stayed there. There was food smudges on the walls and crumbs all over the floor. The lighting was extremely poor. The only overhead lighting fixture was in the hallway in front of the main door. All lighting had to come from two lamps in the living room which were very dim. The curtains had to stay open to have light in the rooms. The fridge did not work and when I contacted the front desk, was told to wait till the next day. Having brought food in a ice chest, I was not very happy about that. Fridge did not come till the next afternoon. The rooms were very spacious and quiet. The towels and rooms were picked up early daily. Parking lot was well light. The hotel is located right behind McDonalds. Location is conveniently located to the left, immediately after exiting the causeway.”

“I had a repeated problem with payment at the hotel. They asked me to pay for all nights, when they were already paid! At check out, they charge all nights to credit card, without asking! Nights were already paid Cant believe! (Twice!)”

“We were at south padre to kite board for the first time. The hotel was very convenient, clean and met our every need. I would recommend this hotel to others that go there.”

“There was a clog in the toilet when we got there. We flushed it and had to take care of it ourselves which was a bit of a nuisance but nothing too excessive. Didn't ruin the trip by any means. :) The most inconvenient thing about the trip was that the TV's Audio was horrible. I couldn't hear the voices even if the volume was loud. A/C worked great! I love cold rooms. Room was very nice too.”

“The hotel was ok just because there wasn't anything else for a low price. but if I would have seen it before I paid I would not have stayed there.. The air did not work the beds smelled like feet and the room smelled like mold. The office stated they did not have any more towels or blankets.. they were awful.”

“The hotel advertised that the beach was approx. 100 yards from the hotel. The hotel is not on the beach and it was a much longer walk to get to the beach than they advertised. The walkway was very narrow and fenced, squeezed between two oceanfront hotels.”

“GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! The A/C unit made so much noise we couldn't sleep. The pool and spa were so nasty I wouldn't let my dog go in them. The whole place was dirty. It's a long haul to the beach and it was strewn with trash. The beach was packed with under aged kids drinking. Apparently it was spring break in Mexico. Not only will I not go back to this hotel, I will not go back to South Padre either.”

“The hotel is close enough to the beach, to have beach access; however, you can't see the beach at all, because another bigger hotel sits between it and the beach. In fact this hotel is surrounded by other structures, so there is really no view from any side. There is only one entrance to the hotel, and it's virtually hidden, and it's hard to get in and out of there especially if there is any traffic. The pool area was small and confined. There were plenty of lounge chairs to sit and lay on; however, there were no umbrellas or any thing of the sort to hide from the full sun. The staff did not respond to a single request for additional items, such as an extra towel, pillow, or a razor, even though they had little reminders in our rooms indicating that they would gladly furnish any toiletry items that we may have forgotten. I finally did get a towel and razor, but I had to go down and get it myself. In summary, this hotel was cheap, and we got what we paid for. ”
