• Close to the aquatic complex.
• Difficulty contacting them, even for booking, unexpected and extreme costs.

“Booked as a group with a swim team. The "group rate" was the same as the internet rate, only with cancellation provisions that were at best draconian (at worst not legally enforceable). Then it took a week of phone tag before any of us found someone who could actually make the booking. The rooms are about equal to a motel 6, but the price is higher than any other nearby hotels. They charge for internet access (very 1990's), and outgoing phone calls are $9.00 for the first minute (they don't tell you that until you get the bill). They also left a trash bag on the door the last day, with a Nasty letter under the door telling us to clean up our own room (for the entire group). I stayed half a mile up the street at the Yankee trader four months earlier, and didn't have any of these problems. I will never stay at the brachia mar again.”

• Services took 30 min to fix toilet, towel stained.

“The hotel is excellent except services were slow especially to fix our toilet. Towel were stained and when you went to front desk there was no one.”

• Clean rooms, good value for the money.
• Front desk doesn't answer phone, can't do math to issue proper bill.

“My family stayed at the brachia mar for my wedding in November 2006 and both the price and quality of the experience were good. We stayed in two three-room condos, which should be noted, are on the top floor of three-story buildings with only stair access. Elderly family members had trouble getting up and down the stairs. The condos from the outside look worn, but the insides are clean and attractive for the price. Troubles included poor lighting in the stairways, a broken TV set in a master bedroom, and a front desk staff that a) takes over 5 minutes of constant ringing to answer the customer service phone and b) consistently overcharged us for our rooms and cannot perform basic math. Maintenance replaced the stairway light bulb and TV set within a few hours of requesting service. Resort is right on the beach and has a lovely pool area. Overall, good choice for the dollar.”

• It's very romantic has nice scenery.
• The water in the pond leading to the beach could have been a little cleaner but no big deal about it.

• Fun entertainment at karaoke, the ocean view and a friendly staff.
• toilet flushed too slow, mold on the ceiling in shower and a better bar tender, no beer cans in or around the pool

“The ocean view or our room was incredible. The cleaning staff were very friendly. Karaoke was fun, I hadn't laughed that much in a while. My family and I really enjoyed it. One thing that could have been better is a toilet that flushed better and the ceiling above the shower was moldy and our waiter at the lounge picked up our plates and we weren't finished yet. The drink I ordered was a bit tasteless. We're planning on visiting again because we know that the few things we found wrong can be fixed as long as the reviews are taken seriously. ”

• Beautiful landscaping & best views of the Gulf and Bay!!!!!!!!!!!!!
• Rooms need a bit of updating.

“My wife and I have been regular visitors on SPI for over fifteen years. We always stay at the Bahia Mar and have rarely been dissapointed with anything. They have two large pools and a hot tub for 30+ people! The hotel is located four miles north of the bridge in a quieter part of the island, but your only five minutes away from the clubs. Great for couples and families!”
