“The staff at the hotel was very friendly. They apologized for not having enough cribs since we were a late check out. They changed us from one king bed to 2 queens as a result- even at 12 AM! The breakfast buffet, while good, did not have many hot items (only a waffle maker) but I did notice that they have a weekly menu and we were on the "off" day in terms of hot foods. Beds were very comfortable and the linens were clean. Room was a little on the dark side. Overall grade: B”

“They have a great pool and whirlpool. However, There were dogs barking in the next room that barked all night long. When I called to complain I was told that because they were Triple Diamond Clients that it was alright. Needless to say we got no sleep.”

“From the time we walked into the hotel until we got into our room took 1.5 hours. They denied that they over booked and claimed computer problems but could not seem to find rooms for people with reservations. As soon as a large group with sever rooms reserved gave up and left the computer started working and they began assigning rooms. We had requested a room with 2 beds but they kept sending us to rooms with one bed. We were assigned 3 different rooms before they got it right. It took over 1 1/2 hours to get into the room.”

“It wasn't bad, but it was just ok. The hotel needs to be freshened up a bit - new carpet and maybe paint. Customer service was ok - but I don't think the lady at the front desk would have gone out of her way to help. Room was spacious, air conditioner was loud but that kept all the noises out. My bathroom was a haven for crickets so I didn't like going in. The vents in the bathroom are very loud too. Continental breakfast was ok. Would rather stay somewhere else if I had my choice and this was supposed to be a 3 star hotel.”

“While this wasn't a bad hotel. It could use some freshen up; maybe new paint and new carpets. My room was spacious and comfortable other than the crickets. The air conditioner was noisy but it helped to block out the noises. Nice continental breakfast.”

“On the morning of my second day, I explained to the desk staff that my room's air handler was very noisy and malfunctioning. Upon my return to the room that evening, the room was hot (outside temp was approx 90 degrees) and the air handler had failed completely. No one had looked at the problem that day. The only reason someone did look at it was that when I returned to the desk to complain again, the hotel maintenance man was at the desk. Staff gave me a key to another room, offered no help, no meal, comp for a night etc. The staff was not discourteous, but I expected more from staff at a hotel of this rating. I travel to Round Rock at least monthly, but I doubt that I will stay at this Wingate again.”

“When I got to the hotel, I gave my debit card to the front desk attendant for incidentals. When I received my bill the next day, I was charged extra for the room! They said they had already corrected their mistake but it would take 3-5 days for the credit to show up on my account. It's crazy how they can instantly take the money from me but take almost a full week to refund it! Overall, experience was poor at this Wingate Inn.”

“It was a very nice and clean hotel. The sheets were extremely soft and the mattresses were very comfortable. Our only complaint was having to ask for towels, there was only one set in the bathroom, but that was taken care of promptly. We loved that it was so quiet. We enjoyed our stay there very much.”

“Overall it was a nice hotel, we had trouble with our room when we checked and had to move to another room which was not as nice as the first room. The whirlpool/hot tub was not functioning when we were there. The exercise facilities were basic and the room was very warm for working out.”

“I would recommend everyone avoid staying here. Staff inexperienced and unhelpful. Other family members stayed also and because the staff could not figure out how to give them the quoted AAA rate, they were forced to pay a much higher rate. The rooms were not clean. Toilet was not bolted down and felt unsafe to use. The exhaust fan in the restroom was broken. The carpet was so dirty that our feet became discolored if we walked barefoot. The air conditioning in the halls did not work--unbearably hot. Also, items were stolen from my brother's room! The front desk only said, "I can not comment on that." I will not stay there again. Extremely disappointed.”

“We had a room with ski bed reserved. Staff failed to note that. Did finally get. Carpet was filthy. Remote did not work. Talked to staff. They promised to bring batteries which they never did. Had plenty of pillows. Breakfast was nice.”
