  • Good Mexican restaurant nearby (only good thing I could say).
  • Absolute worst hotel I had ever stayed in.

“This is worst hotel I have ever stayed in. We were there in winter-time and a/c still did not keep room cool. Sign says free continental breakfast but they did not put it out first day. Second day brought out half-loaf bread and some milk from owners kitchen for guest breakfast. I asked about coffee in lobby and was told there was a pack of coffee in my room. When I said I had used it earlier that morning, I was told to go next door to restaurant for coffee. They advertise free-wifi, but it did not work and computer in lobby did not work. Desk clerk was very good at saying "no, I am sorry" for every request. This should not be national chain and nobody should make reservation without looking at place first. Save your money and go somewhere else.”

  • Nothing.

“I would not have it on your list. Worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I was lost and couldn't get them to answer the phone for at least 45 mins. Until you guys called them. Horrible area scary. Dirty. Bathroom smelled of urine and had old soap in tub with used wrapper. Sheets yellowed with multiple stains slept with my clothes on. Coffee pot caked with old coffee in pot and filter area. Water holding area had mold/mildew growing. Door had space enough to put a wire through to flip lock open easily. Worst experience ever. Take it off your list before more people fall victim. I am writing a letter to the econ lodge headquarters to report my experience.”

  • Nothing at all.
  • There were cigarette burns all over the sink and the smell was disgusting.

“This hotel was not a pleasant place to stay. When we got there to check in there were no rooms ready so we had to wait until after our event that we were in town for check in. When we returned to check in there was no one at the window and we had to wait about 10 minutes for someone to answer the bell. When we got into our room it smelled horrible. There were also cigarette burns all over the sink and a place where a mirror had been torn off of the wall and you could see how disgusting the wall was with dirt and grime like it had never been cleaned.”

  • The beds were very comfortable and the room was quiet at night.
  • Bathroom smelled like urine, toilet clogged, room not clean when we got there.

“I was extremely disappointed. The room key had to be reeked every evening when we came back so we had to stand out in the cold waiting for my husband to get that done. When we got there, the room had not been cleaned and when I opened the door it looked like someone was still there. We had to wait about 30 minutes for them to clean the room. There were lots of full trash bags lying around the trash cans, beer cans in the parking lot, and never enough linen. The woman who checked us in was very friendly and apologized for the mix up about the room but it just started our experience out on the wrong foot. The hotel needs lots of repair work. Broken plaster, worn out carpet, tile grout missing or dirty.”

  • Even though staff was unfriendly and unhelpful, and the hotel and my room appeared in terrible condition, the bed, at least, was clean.
  • I did not like anything about this hotel. I will never, ever stay at an Econolodge again.

“Absolutely the worst hotel/motel experience of my life. I ended up spending my next night in Bastrop to avoid staying there again. In hindsight, it was telling that every other hotel in Austin was sold out due to a big conference, but this Econolodge still had vacancies.”

  • There is absolutely nothing good about this hotel, it was a dump and we did not stay.
  • Everything. Dirty, burn marks soon the tub, sink. Holes in the walls, water leaking from the ceiling.

“Absolute dump. Great place to stay if you are just out of prison or a mesh addict.”

  • Convenient to the city.
  • It was a dump, hair on the soap dish.

“I normally don't respond to the survey's. Typical only taking the time to do a survey when it's a negative response. For starters the place stunk (literally it smelled of strong curry in the lobby), and it just wasn't all that nice. It was a busy weekend in Austin so I didn't have a lot of choices, and I couldn't name my own price, but guess normally the 1 star choices are somewhat nicer than this.”
