• Lobby area was nice.
• Next to a cemetery which made it kind of creepy. Rooms were very plain.

“The hotel was right next to a very large cemetery and beyond the cemetery the neighborhood was very questionable. I did not feel completely safe because there were a lot of transients walking around near by the hotel.”

• Good location, good staff, nice room, great fitness ctr.
• Small pool.

“Not overly fancy, but a great place to stay. no problems with room, parking, location, staff. actually a great location, not far from Downtown.”

• Staff friendliness, comfortable room and bed, great cookies.
• Few transportation options (no shuttle), need more specialty channels on pay per view.

“This hotel was very beautiful and nice. I had to go to the convention center which was about 2 miles away. Everyone was nice and friendly, great cookies, and the beds were very comfortable. I would definitely return.”

• The rooms smelled old and musty.

“I did not enjoy my visit at this hotel. The rooms smelled damp. The front desk clerk accommodated my request to switch rooms, and the second room was worse than the first. There were no exhaust fans in the bathrooms and so showering made the damp feeling and smell almost unbearable. I expected more from a Doubletree. I expected double tree excellence and wound up with a motel 6 experience.”

• Not much.
• The loud bang on the window every 20 min. when the air conditioner would come on!

“The staff was nice, but just handed me my key and never told me how to get to my room. The beds were very uncomfortable. We paid for a movie and although it was a good movie it was hard to enjoy because their was a sharp ringing noise the whole time the movie was playing; the move also was rather expensive at 14.00.”

• Pool was great on a hot day.
• Map quest had us getting off the correct exit.

“Pool was great. Not very large, but it was just the 3 of us. Stopped at the bar for happy hour, friendly staff. Check out was a snap. Very easy to get onto I-35 North!”

• The staff was extremely helpful and considerate.
• The art in the rooms could be better.

“All staff was very helpful, the housekeeping very considerate, the noise minimal, the pool delightful (though could be skimmed a little more often). We had minimal interruptions/problems and were generally left to ourselves, which we very much appreciate.”

• The beds were comfortable I didn't want to get up in the morning.
• The first room was not as clean as I would have liked so I changed rooms.

“Overall everything was great. They have been upgrading the property. The process of it being upgraded did not interfere with my stay at all. Things look great, everything is nice and new.”

“Good location with easy access to Downtown Austin. The public space and bar area was very clean and had several LCD TVs mounted. People seemed comfortable using the public spaces. 24 hour dining (at Dennys) was as close as could be.”

• Clean, located close to UT campus.
• Desk staff not helpful, bed uncomfortable, and A/C didn't work well at all.

“I lost $2.30 in the newspaper machine and when I told the desk staff, he was rude and not at all helpful and I left my phone and name so I could be contacted and I haven't been.”

• The location was easy to get to, room was very clean and the bed was great to sleep in.
• There wasn't anything I didn't like about the room.

“The hotel was at an easy location to get to. The room was very clean and I had a nice view. The bed wasn't hard or lumping which made sleeping very well. Room service was an option, but there was a restaurant next door that I liked.”

• Very close to tourist attractions.
• Staff could not accommodate us a bit earlier than 3:00. Worst attitude by front desk lady.

“We reached this hotel a bit early and were denied any room telling us you must come on or after 3:00 pm because that's what your check in time is. I have traveled and stayed in numerous hotels before and never had any problem checking in a little earlier. I was traveling with my 3 year son. We spend 30-40 min waiting outside to get in. The lady at front desk was rude and didn't care that we are troubled by the wait. She could have looked up any other available rooms in her computer but never bothered to do that. Other than that, the stay was good. Very good room service. I needed some extra sheets as my son spilled some water on them, the staff was very courteous and gave prompt attention with a friendly smile.”

• My car was vandalized.

“Very insecure hotel, there is a lot of gangs that hang out near outside Denis; Hotel knows their parking lot is insecure but still wont warrant clients; did not showed any empathy when they vandalized my car. I will not recommend this hotel because its unsafe. Card keys will invariably don't work; had to make 2 travel to reception per day to correct this. Pillows stink; they did not correct this problem. Pool was messy with tree debris.”

“Great hotel. Minor repairs going on but no problem. A Denny's in parking lot. Wolfgang Puck individual coffee maker and coffee. Lots of college athletes for an event-they were very nice and respectful.”
