• The staff was professional and the continental breakfast had a great variety.
• I'd rather it not be a Motel style but you couldn't beat the value

“The hotel was clean and the staff courteous. I had the opportunity to observe the staff resolve a customer issue. They did this professionally and to the customers satisfaction. The facility is certainly only a 2 star, though very clean, but the staff made us feel like we were in a 3 star. We had no issues and were pleasant.”

• The location was easy to access various travel spots.
• Did not meet expectations to the location.

“The hotel was good as to the location. Appeared to be in a poor neighborhood. Would have liked to have seen a nicer location.”

• Internet and movies on demand did not work; housekeeping did not make my room.

“I had a very bad experience. On my arrival the front desk did not want to change my room type to a king bed, the internet and movies on demand did not work. Next day at around 6pm I found out that housekeeping did not make my room so I went to the front desk to see if there was something they could do and their only solution was that they could change my room, but as you know that is a big trouble having to pack, move the luggage to the second floor, unpack etc. So as you can see I had a really bad time in my stay.”

• The rooms towards the "Oltorf road" are wary noisy.

“Need a face lift and the rooms towards Oltorf road need some kind of noise isolation.”

“Very marginal, not clean. The location is good for access to downtown. I felt security at this location is a must. Not good feeling about other guest. Cooking in the parking lot using charcoal cookers and drinking beer.”

• A/c in room leaked all over carpet and was not corrected when reported.

• Great service, no problem checking in, good clean room, great location next to IH35, good parking, no noise.
• The beds did not have a bed skirt so the box mattresses were exposed; the elevator needed cleaning and ventilation.

• Very dirty no guest service at this hotel.

“I tried to call the hotel for directions and the desk clerk would not answer the phone, just pick it and put it on hold. When checking in I saw she was doing this will all the calls. When I got to the room it was very dirty and smelly. The bathtub had hair all over inside. I pulled back the bed and the linens were not changed. Had a burn hole thought the sheet to the masteries? Hair and stains on the bedding. You can tell this bed was never change from the past guest. I called down to the desk and took 30 min for her to pick up the phone. She switched room to second floor room. Wake up call never got to new room move. This was the worst hotel I have ever seen. No service at front desk and housekeeping should be fired...”

• Location attitude of the staff.
• Needed patching over the shower head from previous leak.

“Due to weather I thought I would have to extend my stay and they worked with me if I had to (but I didn't). I hope the next time I request a stay here in the fall I will get this motel again. The manager and her staff bent over backwards to help myself and the people who were there on business.”

• Nice selection of food and close to downtown.
• The staff seemed concerned about my safety which made me concerned about it.

“It was a place to sleep. I think in the future I would opt for a location either downtown or on the outskirts. I spent an hour 1/2 driving 1 mile from downtown to the hotel at the end of the day. The safety of the area seemed questionable and the hotel itself was an older one that was slightly run down.”

• Pool and courtyard were nice in the evening.
• Foot traffic from people that were not hotel guests using parking areas as shortcut.

“Older La Quinta Rooms facing courtyard and pool were quiet. Adequate if not spending much time in room. Away from downtown but convenient.”

• The hotel was within 2 miles of the capital area, so was very convenient and economical.
• The free breakfast was limited to donuts, cereal, and juices. not many working ice machines.

“This hotel is right off the I35 expressway, conveniently located within a short range of the Capitol, 6TH street district, and warehouse district. Priced reasonable, but is an economy hotel.”
