  • Beautiful, historic, and great location.
  • I loved it all.

“This is the place to say in Austin. Restaurant and bar are great there too. Thanks for being on Priceline.”

  • Its location.

“The location of this hotel is what sold me. Unfortunately, not being from Austin, I had no idea until after I booked the hotel that this place is haunted. Its listed as one of the most haunted hotels in the country.”

  • Historic, 1st room was European in size and layout, ie, smallish but with lots of character.
  • Boiler broke the 2nd night, so I had to change room. No hot water on day 3 in the morning.

“Lots of history and
very high ceiling. Had meat loaf at the restaurant and it was terrible; great chocolate cake, however. Room service had only turkey BLT the first night I arrived (around 11:30pm); very disappointed.”

  • The staff were amazing - adding little touches that made our stay truly special.
  • Nothing - it is a grand old hotel.

“Gorgeous, grand, with a very Texas vibe. Comfortable bar with incredible staff. Front desk people were charming and beyond helpful. Bed was extremely comfortable, room service was fast and delicious. Highly recommended.”

  • Location
  • Very small room.

“Paint was peeling. No outside window in room. Valet parking and
free internet. Staff was
first class.”

  • The staff was superb! Our room was beautiful, and the food was wonderful!

“My husband and I stayed in the Driskill for a weekend getaway. Its central location is perfect for the person who likes to explore the city of Austin. The 2nd Street District is a great place to do some shopping and/or get a spa treatment at Milk and Honey Spa. Make sure and eat at 1886 Cafe located inside the Driskill Hotel. The presentation of the breakfast is fabulous and reflects the taste! Room service was quick & equally delicious! We stayed in the historical part of the hotel. Our room was small but was absolutely beautiful - clean, very cozy bed, sufficient seating, and flat screen TV offering movies still in theaters. I could go on and on about how much we enjoyed our stay. I would recommend Driskill Hotel to anyone desiring a hotel that offers a rich history and luxury.”

  • Very elegant hotel.
  • There was a loud fan noise in the AC unit all night.

“This was a very nice hotel that I would come back and spend more time. I highly recommend this hotel. It is right on 6th street but not noisy. Do not valet park! It is very expensive. Park in the garage 1 block north for about $10 per day.”

  • Every room was non-smoking! Very unique and old. Beautiful.
  • Traffic around hotel when trying to check in - awful.

“What a beautiful old hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean. I really appreciated the fact that the entire hotel is a non-smoking facility. It was beautifully decorated. I hope to stay there again and get time to really enjoy the hotel and its bar area.”

“The hotel is in the perfect location in Austin. It has character, ambiance and excellent staff who were always there to help without being asked. Their anticipation of our needs was impressive and I have lived on 4 continents and being in a variety of hotels. I loved the history of the Driskill and Texas proudly displayed on the walls of the hotel. The latte in the hotel bakery rivals the ones I have had in Rome! It was a truly wonderful experience.”

  • The Historic look and feel.
  • Room could have been a little more plush.

“The Driskall was an unexpected delight. The hotel has kept it's "cattle drive" look and feel and is reminiscent of days gone-by. My teenage son was overwhelmed. A hotel like an other.”
