“Valet parking was another $27. There was a perfume smell in 2 rooms I was allergic to, so we had to leave a window open.”

“Parking is overpriced and because of the location downtown there is not much to park somewhere else. It seemed like the hotel was taking advantage of the situation. Let's face it, $27 for Valet parking and not self parking.”

“The hotel is nice, but please plan on bringing extra cash. Parking cost 25 dollars a day, the internet is 10.95 a day. Its not business traveler friendly, its more of a get way with the wife type place.”

“Not a 4 star hotel
becausse they market their hotel
at a price & then don't offer the ammenities needed. We needed double beds for our stay but weren't offered
at the same price. The upcharged us another $40 for doubles. They said that's how they compete
with everyone by offering only a king & not doubles. The so called pool was a joke. Absolutely worthless. Plus the parking was about $30 as well. So the overall value of this purchase was very poor. I could of stayed
at a resort style hotel & paid full price for what I got
at this hotel. very dissapointed!”

“The rooms are very comfortable. The TV was a little old. There were too many homeless people and vagrants near the hotel. There were few open restaurants near the hotel on a Sunday after 9 pm. The WiFi internet was way too expensive ($6.95/hour or $10/day).”

“The hotel was fantastic for a romantic weekend, but being on business I really needed more space and bed accommodations.”

“If you need to be downtown and prefer an older hotel then this is the place for you. Small lap pool, hot-tub, sauna, and exercise equipment in the basement were quite nice. Rooms are showing their age. Internet is extra. TVs are old.”

“The location is great for activities in the downtown area. No in/out parking. No free WIFI. Rooms seem small compare to U.S. standards.”

“Great staff, nice hotel. It was very noisy from both street traffic and partiers. Security had to come up several times. Toilet overflowed. Heater was very noisy.”

“The Intercontinental Stephen F Austin is a classic hotel that has been rennovated and is well maintained. However, its vintage charm is somewhat lessened by the tiny rooms.
The hotel has two restaurants. The Roaring Fork offers great southwestern cuisine and has a very nice bar while the hotel restaurant offering breakfast is overpriced and the food is of questionable quality. The hotel's second floor bar has a great balcony overlooking Congress Avenue, but in a city with so many bars offering Happy Hour specials, the drinks are overpriced. Service is generally good, although I wouldn't count on accurate directions from any of the hotel staff. Overall, the hotel is in a great location, is comfortable, but is trying too hard to be high-end and is unable to pull it off.”
